Sep, 2003 : Atomz to Enhance Search Function on PacSun.com

📅 September 25, 2003 - Atomz (atomz.com), a provider of Web management software, said yesterday it has been selected by Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. to enhance its Web site through a complete renovation of its internal search functionality.

The revamped search function, the San Bruno, California company reported, allows visitors to sort and refine their search as they shop and gives them the ability to eliminate images in favor of "text only" searches. According to Glenn Wilk, director of e-commerce and online marketing for PacSun.com, the company's site, the search function also includes a "breadcrumb component" that allows customers to view what was previously searched for and provides a link users can follow back to that page automatically.
"We are pleased with the much improved user interface and range of additional functional features that Atomz has helped us customize and employ," said Wilk. "Initial results indicate that the enhanced search is making a positive difference with our online visitors. We have seen a significant increase in the percentage of sales attributed to internal searches."
Pacific Sunwear is a specialty retailer of everyday casual apparel and has been an Atomz customer for more than two years.
"After examining solutions from many e-commerce site search vendors, the company determined that Atomz would not only meet its functional requirements, but did so at an attractive price compared to the competitors? software license costs," said Steve Kusmer, chief executive officer of Atomz. "As a Web-native solution, there are no incremental hardware, software, maintenance or programming costs associated with deploying Atomz Search."
