😠 Fraud... horrible
Three months ago I hired hosting at web.com and I must pay $12.55 for hiring it a year. But right after that every month they charge me $12.55 and deduct it right from my credit card. When I complained they didn't give any response up to now. It's Fraud. Never use this web.com. It is just another way to trap customer by promoting a cheap web hosting service. Be careful they will steal your money every month buy trapping customer. They don’t care about the complain of customer all over the world. They might just simply gives respond on public forum by saying that web.com is best and doing good service. Never believe in review that web.com is good. They might pay people to write any thing good about this company. Or the employees themselves write something good and pretend to be their customer. Never ever use web.com. They are thief and will steal your money every month. The best way to stop it just block your credit card, and they will not be able to deduct your money any more. This [read more...]

😠 Overly expensive for anything but the basic accounts. VPS is the most expensive in the country with almost no features and space at around 2 GB ($79 for 2GB of space! for a VPS)??? Cancellation of the account has taken almost two weeks and they charged the credit card after the cancellation.

😠 Just took three weeks to cancel one domain. Liars and half truths to keep your account through the “end-of-life” department.

Just use your common sense why they would have to create a department to try to hail-mary you into staying…their products and services suck.

Two more domains to go and we too will be free. We use to have over 25 active domains with Interland. Soon there was none.

Web.com was never only a web hosting company. They operated as a broader small-business web services brand, combining shared hosting, domain registration, SSL certificates, WordPress hosting, SEO services, and a website builder in one ecosystem. That wider approach was the main reason the brand stayed visible for so long. Instead of targeting developers or large infrastructure clients, they focused on small businesses that wanted a practical way to launch a website, secure a domain, add email or SSL, and manage everything from one provider.

As a hosting brand, they were best known for Shared Hosting and WordPress Hosting. Their hosting plans were built for simplicity rather than technical depth, with the usual essentials such as FTP access, email accounts, and often a free first-year domain depending on the package. They also sold domains, SSL certificates, SEO services, and a drag-and-drop website builder, so the whole platform was clearly shaped for beginners and business owners who preferred convenience over advanced server control.

That was also their limitation. Web.com worked better for standard business websites, brochure sites, and first online projects than for demanding users who needed deeper infrastructure options. They never stood out as a strong provider for VPS hosting, dedicated servers, or reseller hosting, because that was not really the market they were built for.

Their standalone identity effectively came to an end in June 2025, when the Web.com brand was consolidated into Network Solutions. After that point, they no longer remained a separate hosting destination in the way they once were, and the business moved under the Network Solutions structure.

Web.com was long positioned as the landing point for numerous acquired domain-related brands that were gradually absorbed and eventually discontinued. In the end, however, Web.com itself followed a similar path: the brand was redirected to Network Solutions and ultimately retired.

💰 Price & Cost

Web.com generally sat in the higher part of the entry-level market. Their plans looked acceptable for customers who wanted bundled services and a simple onboarding process, but when compared with more hosting-focused competitors, the pricing often felt expensive for ordinary shared hosting.

One positive point was the standard 30-day money-back guarantee, which gave customers some room to test the service before fully committing. That matched the type of audience they targeted, because small-business users and first-time buyers usually valued flexibility and reassurance. Some hosting offers also included a free first-year domain, which made the starting package more appealing.

A weaker side was the lack of migration services. That made the platform less attractive for experienced users moving from another host, since many competitors handled transfers more directly. In practical terms, Web.com was easier to recommend to people launching a brand-new site than to those planning a more advanced migration.

🏢 Data Center

Web.com operated as a U.S.-based provider, with business operations tied to Jacksonville, Florida. Their hosting service was associated with the standard 99.9% uptime guarantee, which was typical for mainstream shared hosting providers and fit the small-business market they were serving.

They were not the kind of company that built their reputation around technical transparency or a broad list of international infrastructure locations. The stronger point was stability for everyday websites rather than deep infrastructure customization. For small business pages, local company sites, and standard online presence projects, that was usually enough.

✍️ Customer Support

Support was one of the stronger parts of the brand. Web.com offered assistance through phone, email, and live chat, with 24/7 availability associated with the service. They also maintained a knowledgebase, which was useful for customers who preferred solving simple issues on their own.

That support setup matched their market well. Their customer base was largely made up of small businesses and less technical users, so it mattered that help was available across several channels rather than only through tickets. They also tied support into the broader business-service side of the company, not just basic hosting questions.

🔨 Control Panel

Web.com used a custom control panel instead of a standard platform like cPanel or Plesk. For beginners, that could be perfectly acceptable because it kept website tools, hosting functions, and related services in one place.

For more experienced users, the custom panel was less convincing. Customers already familiar with cPanel or Plesk often found proprietary systems less comfortable, especially when moving between providers or expecting a more standard hosting workflow. It worked well enough for simple management, but it never felt like a major advantage for technical users.

🎯 Conclusion

Web.com was a solid small-business web services brand that included hosting as part of a bigger package. Their strongest side was the ability to combine shared hosting, domains, SSL, WordPress, SEO, and a website builder into a service that was easy to approach for ordinary business users. They also had useful support channels, a practical knowledgebase, and a standard 99.9% uptime commitment.

The weaker side was clear as well. Their prices were often not the most competitive, the platform was not especially attractive for advanced hosting needs, and the lack of migration help reduced their appeal for users coming from other providers. The custom control panel also remained a mixed point depending on user experience level.

Overall, Web.com made the most sense for customers who wanted simplicity and bundled business services rather than serious hosting flexibility. As a standalone hosting name, they belonged more to an earlier stage of the market. Once the brand was folded into Network Solutions in June 2025, that independent role effectively came to an end.

😞 This service is ok if everything is working. But God help you if you need to speak with anyone is support or billing. The support hours are joke and often no one will even answer the phone, there is no support que, just a message saying" no one is available to take your call".

😠 This is the worst possible company to deal with. They were very quick to get my credit card and charge it but the service was horrible or non existent. They told me my signature website would take 7-10 days. After a month they had not provided me with ANYTHING. I tried to e-mail them, no response, call and ask for a supervisor, they are not available. All you hear from them is apologies and nothing else. I had asked for a refund on my $599.00 they told me it would be back in my account within 3-5 days. 9 days later I called and I was told that nobody had posted a refund.... even though the service was never completed and I had backed out of them building it for me. My business has lost revenue because we had switched our name and our marketing team had no website to refer to for 3 weeks.

😁 I have had my ups and downs with Web.com, but I can say that overall I have been pretty pleased with my experience. I always receive a follow up message after submitting a trouble ticket, I am greeted with a knowledgeable support rep after my tickets are escalated, and I have yet to encounter any billing issues. My site has never been down in the three years that I've hosted with Web.com, and I've had over a 99% uptime achieved.

😠 These guys are the worst. The only reason that I have stayed with them so long is it's a pain to change everything over, but my experience this past week has been typical whenever tech support is needed.

They recently migrated my site to a new OS...ever since they touched it 5 days ago my site has been down. Tech support has been useless, and since I work in the IT field myself I have a true understanding of just hoe LITTLE their tech support personnel know.

I can also vouch for Maria's comments about billing with them. It is a NIGHTMARE. It took almost a year for me to get some charges reversed. A few years back after they did an email conversion I tried getting a hold of one of their customer "Advocates". I explained to this person that since they hosed up my email for 2 weeks that they owed me money off my next bill because they failed to provide services as per the contract. She told me that email wasn't included in the contract and that they don't back up [read more...]

😠 This company has been nothing but a headache for me. I originally bought the software from staples for a little over 80.00 dollars. I signed up online to start my website for the value hosting, printed a receipt for what was to be a charge of 139.90 only on my credit card, I find out that they charged my credit card 799.00. Now try getting a refund on this amount. It was practically like pulling teeth. I finally get my refund, after horrible customer service, for what was supposed to be a web hosting plan for 2 years from a online sitebuilder Box plan. I have lost my trust at this point in this company, but I have paid my fees and I decide to continue with the site. Instead of getting 2 years, I then lose a year for changing domain names, for which they charged me twice, no explanation was offered for this free charge for all on my credit card. They stated they would credit me and used it as part of domain renewal for two years and again I was not covered for two years, just [read more...]
