Aug 11, 2004 : Digital Parks Launches Data Center

📅 August 11, 2004 - Digital Parks (digitalparks.com), a data technology company in Spain, announced to North America that it had launched its first data center in Hospitalet de Llobregat, investing 7 million euros financed by Spanish capital.

Founded in 2003, Digital Parks provides infrastructure solutions for presence on the Internet and technology outsourcing aimed at small and medium sized companies, large corporations and other organizations.
Instead of operating nationally from a large base data center in Madrid or Barcelona, Digitial Parks says it works from iCenters, medium sized data centers located close to their clients that offer services like telecommunications or consultancy.
The company says it will construct nine additional iCenters in strategic locations such as Zaragoza, Valencia or Balearic Islands, establishing itself as the main Spanish provider offering clients a technological infrastructure with a projected client billing of over 50 million euros after the 10 iCenters are completed in 2008.
Digital Parks' funding comes from private investors and agreements with local organizations.
