📅 December 9, 2004 - Penguin Computing (penguincomputing.com), a provider of highly scalable Linux server and cluster solutions, announced on Wednesday its new blade server, BladeRunner.

Packaged with Scyld Beowulf Linux clustering software, BladeRunner is the first "cluster in a box." Scyld Beowulf is a complete, standards-based Linux distribution customized for high performance computing clusters. BladeRunner is also an effective data center consolidation platform, offering twice as much compute density as some competing products.
"With powerful products and industry knowledge, Penguin Computing helps customers reduce the time to market and increase staff productivity," says Enrico Pesatori, chairman and CEO of Penguin Computing. "This ultimately levels the competitive landscape by allowing customers to do more for less, without affecting performance or quality."
