Oct 5, 2006 : Vanguard Offers IBM Database Engine
📅 - Security and auditing solution provider Vanguard Integrity Professionals (go2vanguard.com) announced on Tuesday that its inCompliance security solution is now able to use IBM's DB2 UDB Express as its database engine.
InCompliance enables organizations to set, adjust and continually audit specific security policies as well as implement nearly 200 critical security compliance checks based on their specific requirements. InCompliance also provides administrators and auditors with an overview of the entire RACF data center security environment, as well as a detailed view of any compliance check that is in process. Vanguard says this means customers will now have the choice of using DB2 or SQL for their engines, which can result in significant cost savings across the enterprise. The company says porting inCompliance to DB2 integrates Vanguard's security solutions even more tightly with the IBM System Z platform. Currently, IBM Tivoli distributes Vanguard's security management products through its IBM Tivoli worldwide sales network. "This is a mature, battle-proven product that is renowned for its ease-of-installation and use, as well as its deep well of expert knowledge. Its intuitive approach actually teaches you what the problem is, why you want to fix it, and how to fix it," says Ronn Bailey, CEO and CTO of Vanguard. "This is but one reason that we've seen a significant increase in new customers, especially among the BusinessWeek Global 1000, seeking to resolve audit, monitoring and administration issues."
