Within the publication, interested parties will learn more about SMBs and their involvement in the Web hosting market as they strive to establish a Web presence. The eBook goes over the evolution of how SMBs used to be able to maintain a Web presence with do-it-yourself tools but many SMBs today want to outsource creation of their Web sites entirely. The eBook also goes over outsourcing and how it revives a telco's outlook on Web hosting because of the emerging and growing demand among small businesses for hosted Web sites and applications. The final chapter in the eBook titled "Beyond Hosting" looks at SMBs and their recognition that creating and maintaining a Web presence will help with increasing revenue and that means that Web hosts should be offering auxiliary services to help businesses attract the largest and most qualified audiences to their portals.

📅 Mar 10, 2009 - Web Host C I Host Sells Shared Hosting to X7 - Web hosting provider C I Host (cihost.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Tuesday it has sold its shared web hosting business to X7 Hosting (x7hosting.com -> hostpapa.com), a web services provider operated by Hostopia (hostopia.com ).

Just less than a year ago, Hostopia itself was acquired by Deluxe Corporation for about $124 million Canadian.

According to the press release, the sale allows CI Host and Cassiopeia Internet to "focus on their managed, dedicated and colocation hosting for their mid and large market enterprise customers while ensuring improved services for the accounts to be acquired by X7 Hosting."

📅 Jun 19, 2008 - Web Host Hostopia Acquired for $124M - Shortly after announcing a fairly significant acquisition of its own, private-label web hosting provider Hostopia (hostopia.com ) reported this week that it had entered an agreement to be acquired by Deluxe Corporation (deluxe.com -> hostpapa.com). According to the announcement, Deluxe, which "helps financial institutions and small businesses better manage, promote, and grow their businesses," will acquire Hostopia in an all-cash deal that values the company at approximately $124 million Canadian.The merger agreement will see Deluxe pay $10.55 for each outstanding Hostopia common share.In July 2006, Hostopia filed its IPO, intending to raise approximately $40 million.
