😁 Hostopia is excellent quality white label hosting
We have approximately 150 websites hosted with Hostopia and have been with them since they opened their doors about 15 years ago.

They service is rock solid and reliable. It has the important features, but is somewhat locked down to guarantee security and uptime. Their system is distributed with separate database servers, mail servers, and http servers.

They have good tech support. Their uptime is outstanding. (we've been down for more than 5 minutes once in 15 years.)

They are not glamorous, but if you want trouble free hosting for your customers, Hostopia will provide it and has a long track record to prove it.

They are more expensive than the many budget hosts out there, but those hosts don't have the long track record to back up their claims.

Many of our customers are hedge funds and they expect reliability. Hostopia isn't perfect, but we've stuck with them because we've never found anyone that could match their reliability. On several occasions over the years [read more...]

😠 extremely poor and we are losing business
The website hosted via BT will not load. They keep offering suggested (but vague) faults with website, images, coding etc however the website loads in just seconds with other servers
see http://tmf.juliefuller.ner for example and compare that with hostopia's service www.intercity-accommodation.co.uk

😠 Worst experience ever, they are complete idiots. They bounced my emails and said I had to do SMTP authentication and after 12 freaking weeks they finally said it is coming from a machine not a person. Then I found the problem..after 12 weeks.

Hostopia – A White-Label Hosting Giant Serving the Backbone of Small Business Web Services

Hostopia, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a major player in the world of private-label hosting and web services. Rather than offering its services directly to end users, Hostopia powers a vast network of resellers, service providers, and telecommunications companies, enabling them to deliver branded hosting, email, and online business tools to their own customers—primarily small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
With a strong focus on scalability and automation, Hostopia has carved out a niche in the B2B segment by providing an efficient, low-cost infrastructure that allows partners to grow recurring revenue without heavy overhead. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone provider for companies looking to resell hosting and digital presence solutions under their own brand.

Ownership, Acquisitions, and Global Expansion

Hostopia’s corporate story has evolved significantly over the past two decades. In 2008, it was acquired by Deluxe Corporation, a U.S.-based payments and business technology company. For years, it operated under Deluxe’s umbrella, contributing to its broader portfolio of web services.
More recently, HostPapa, a growing global hosting provider, acquired Deluxe's web hosting and logo design divisions, including Hostopia’s services. This 2023 acquisition represents HostPapa’s strategic push into white-label solutions and design services, aiming to broaden its reach and solidify its market position worldwide.
Meanwhile, Newfold Digital—another major tech firm—acquired Hostopia’s Australian operations from Deluxe in 2022. The move expanded Newfold’s foothold in the Asia-Pacific region, further demonstrating the demand for Hostopia’s infrastructure in different markets.
These transactions illustrate the platform’s value and adaptability, even as it transitions between parent companies.

A Comprehensive White-Label Platform for Resellers

At its core, Hostopia provides a turnkey platform for resellers to deliver a wide array of online services to SMBs. These include:
  • Web Hosting & Email: Reliable infrastructure for website and email services, accessible through branded portals.
  • Online Presence Builder: A drag-and-drop site builder with responsive templates and integrated onboarding—targeted at non-technical users.
  • Web Design & Maintenance Services: Fulfilled by professional designers, allowing resellers to offer hands-off site building and ongoing updates.
  • eCommerce Capabilities: Tools for businesses to begin selling online, from simple PayPal setups to full-scale online stores.
  • Online Directory Management: For improving visibility across platforms like Google Maps and Yelp.
  • Online Fax: A surprisingly relevant tool for sectors still dependent on secure document transmission.

One of the platform’s major advantages is white-label flexibility. Resellers can fully brand the user interface, emails, and even customer communications—offering what appears to be a seamless, proprietary solution without building infrastructure from scratch.

Designed for Automation and Profitability

Hostopia’s platform is engineered to reduce friction and maximize engagement. Key features include:
  • Integrated onboarding that walks users through site setup quickly, reducing "melt" (customer drop-off).
  • Right-Time Engagement tools that present upsell opportunities or feature recommendations at ideal moments.
  • Cross-product design enabling users to purchase and activate additional services within the platform.

These automation-driven elements make it easier for resellers to increase average revenue per user (ARPU), improve retention, and streamline customer management.
Additionally, the platform includes built-in tools for account management, migrations, and training, enabling partners to scale without building a large internal support team.

Support and Scalability at the Core

Hostopia offers robust support services, not just for end users, but for its reseller clients. From dedicated account managers to white-label sales and technical support, the company positions itself as a full-service partner. Their managed email and website migrations further reduce the burden for service providers transitioning clients from legacy systems or competing platforms.
With global infrastructure and support for multi-language, multi-market needs, Hostopia is well-positioned for partners with international ambitions.

🎯 Conclusion

Hostopia is a platform built for enablement rather than direct competition. It provides the digital scaffolding for telecoms, ISPs, and service resellers to offer branded hosting, email, design, and e-commerce services without investing in infrastructure.
Its strengths lie in automation, scalability, and white-label flexibility, allowing partners to create seamless customer experiences with minimal operational complexity. While it doesn’t target end-users directly, its impact is widespread, powering tens of thousands of SMBs indirectly through its partner network.
That said, the white-label model does come with limitations in customization and innovation speed. Partners dependent on Hostopia’s platform may find themselves somewhat restricted by the update cycles and feature sets offered centrally.
Still, for companies looking to launch or scale digital services under their own brand, Hostopia remains a strong and proven choice—backed by decades of experience, strong infrastructure, and a clear focus on enabling business growth through smart, invisible technology.

😠 The only thing that was supposed top happen was I was supposed to obtain a registered name through mediacom... Instead I get this freaking crap that I have to put up with. needless to say IF i ever get things worked out which I will be surprised if I do since i will be hosting My own web site. which obviously resellers/resellers hate then there is nothing but issues. I don't want any other services from this freaking place other than my own domain. hell not even through them but rather my internet service provider. DNS registration shouldn't be such a freaking hassle next time I stick with the pros. DYNDNS themselves rather than relying on My service provider to get things right.

😠 Our account was purchased sold by Aplus.net to Hostopia without our knowledge. Since then, we have faced so many problems and issues trying to keep our website up and running. Hostopia's customer service center is staffed with generic call screeners who will issue you a work number, then never get back to you. Occasionally your issues get resolved, but they don't bother to check back with you to see. No idea how many hours we have wasted on the phone trying to fix the problems Hostopia and Aplus.net created. Now we are trying to get an explanation on a bill they sent us, but no one there seems to know what it is for.

I would recommend you avoid them both.
