) announced on Tuesday that it has provided free Web site-building tools and hosting for Citizen Schools (citizenschools.org/kidsonline), a non-profit organization that connects adult volunteers to middle school students in hands-on learning projects.

Beginning with the spring semester of 2007, BizLand agreed not only to provide free hosting for the Citizen Schools' Kids Online Web site itself, but also for all students who need to create Web sites to learn and exercise skills involving site development and other multimedia courses. Citizen Schools emphasizes the learning of practical and marketable skills by engaging students in apprenticeships, where students produce a WOW! -- high-quality, real-world products or performances that have value to the community.

"Here at BizLand, we are pleased to have been such a major part of Citizen Schools' students' intellectual achievements," says Joe Bardenheier, VP of corporate development at BizLand. "We realize that these students will eventually chart the future of technology, and providing them access to the tools they need to excel in their technology apprenticeships gives them a great start."

The Kids Online WOW! video-conference presentation will be held on May 7, 2007 at the MIT Media Lab. The presentation will enable students to teach their peers and the public the real-world knowledge and skills they learned from their 11-week technology apprenticeship.

Bizland recently announced that Michael Sattler, VP of engineering, will be speaking at Web design event "Best Practices of Web Design with Web 2.now for Everyone".
