📄 Editorial Review
(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain RegistrationWebsite Hosts UK is a UK-based web hosting, domain, email, and virtual server provider founded by Adrian Smith in 2012. The company focuses primarily on individuals, small businesses, online shops, developers, agencies, and customers who prefer UK-based hosting with straightforward monthly pricing.
Its service range includes Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, DirectAdmin Hosting, Static HTML Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Business Hosting, Shared Cloud Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, Email Hosting, Domain Registration, VPS, and VDS. Managed WordPress care, website maintenance, migrations, and ongoing technical assistance are also available.
Shared hosting uses NVMe storage, free SSL certificates, domain-based email accounts, databases, backups, DNS management, and DirectAdmin. These plans are suitable for personal websites, company presentation sites, blogs, and smaller WordPress projects that do not require dedicated server resources.
The entry-level static hosting range is intended for one-page websites, portfolios, landing pages, campaign sites, and lightweight HTML, CSS, or JavaScript projects. It provides an inexpensive starting point for customers who do not require PHP applications or databases.
DirectAdmin Hosting is available through the DA-10, DA-20, and DA-30 ranges. DirectAdmin provides one interface for managing domains, website files, email accounts, SSL certificates, databases, DNS records, redirects, PHP settings, and backups. The control panel is included with the hosting plan rather than billed as a separate license.
WordPress Hosting uses the WP-10, WP-20, and WP-40 plan structure. These packages include NVMe storage, free SSL, professional email accounts, WordPress installation tools, and Redis caching support. The standard WordPress plans remain self-managed, so customers are responsible for their website content, plugins, themes, updates, and application-level security unless they purchase a managed service.
For online shops, WooCommerce Hosting is available through the WC-10, WC-30, and WC-60 packages. These plans combine WordPress tools with Redis support, SSL certificates, business email, and NVMe storage. Larger shops can move to Shared Cloud Hosting, VPS, or VDS when they require more processing power, memory, storage, or software control.
Shared Cloud Hosting provides a middle ground between ordinary shared hosting and a root-access virtual server. Resources can be configured with 1 to 32 vCPU, 1GB to 32GB RAM, and 10GB to 300GB NVMe storage. DirectAdmin remains included, allowing customers to increase their resources without taking responsibility for Linux administration, firewall configuration, operating-system updates, or server security.
The business hosting range covers startups, sole traders, local businesses, agencies, designers, freelancers, professional services, tradespeople, restaurants, charities, and ecommerce websites. These plans generally use the same DirectAdmin, WordPress, WooCommerce, or cloud infrastructure, with packages organised around different business requirements.
Standalone Business Email Hosting is available for customers who need professional email addresses without a complete website package. The E-10 plan includes 10GB NVMe storage and five email accounts, while E-20 includes 20GB and ten accounts. Both support Roundcube webmail, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, and spam filtering. Combined website-and-email packages are also available.
Reseller Hosting begins with R-10 and continues through the R-25, R-50, and R-100 packages. DirectAdmin reseller access allows agencies, web designers, and freelancers to create separate customer accounts and custom hosting packages. The white-label structure is useful for businesses that want to resell hosting without maintaining their own VPS.
The VPS range can be configured with 1 to 32 vCPU, 2GB to 128GB RAM, and 20GB to 1TB NVMe storage. Every VPS includes 5TB monthly traffic, one public IPv4 address, root access, and client-area controls for powering the server on or off, rebooting, checking server information, and resetting the root password. Additional IPv4 addresses are available when technical justification is provided.
Available Linux distributions include Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, and AlmaLinux, depending on the selected configuration. Specialist VPS options cover WordPress, WordPress Multisite, Drupal, Joomla, Node.js, Python, Laravel, PHP, Nginx, APIs, staging systems, and development environments.
VPS customers receive complete administrative control, but also carry full responsibility for operating-system updates, application installation, firewall rules, backups, monitoring, malware prevention, and server security.
VDS Hosting provides dedicated CPU resources and stronger workload isolation than the standard VPS range. It is intended for busy ecommerce websites, databases, business applications, and projects that require more predictable processing performance. VDS remains a virtualised server service rather than a physical bare-metal dedicated server.
Managed services are available for customers who do not want to maintain WordPress or handle routine hosting work themselves. The M-1 managed package includes weekly backups, WordPress updates, theme and plugin assistance, SSL and DNS management, and one hour of small website changes each month.
Additional services include Managed WordPress Hosting, WordPress Maintenance, Website Care Plans, WordPress Migration, and general website migration assistance. Migration work can include website files, databases, email accounts, DNS changes, SSL configuration, and post-migration testing.
Domain registration and management cover extensions including .com, .co.uk, .uk, .net, and .org. Customers can manage DNS records, transfers, renewals, and domain settings through the client area. Eligible annual hosting packages can include one qualifying domain registration for the first year, followed by normal renewal pricing.
The website is modern, responsive, and easy to navigate across desktop and mobile devices. Services are available in English, with prices displayed in British pounds sterling.
💰 Price & Cost
The lowest-cost hosting option starts at Β£1.99 per month and is aimed at static websites, landing pages, or very small projects. DirectAdmin hosting and combined website-and-email packages begin at approximately Β£7.99 per month, while WordPress, WooCommerce, and small-business hosting start at around Β£9.99 per month.
Standalone email hosting costs Β£11.99 per month for E-10 and Β£15.99 per month for E-20. Shared Cloud Hosting and VPS services start at Β£14.99 per month, reseller hosting begins at Β£24.99 per month, and dedicated-CPU VDS hosting starts at Β£29.99 per month.
The fully managed M-1 service costs Β£50 per month and includes WordPress maintenance, weekly backups, SSL and DNS assistance, plugin and theme support, and one hour of small website changes.
Domain registrations for common extensions such as .com, .co.uk, .uk, .net, and .org start at approximately Β£14.99 per year. Eligible annual hosting plans include the first year of one qualifying domain, while standard renewal charges apply from the second year.
Many shared hosting, WordPress, WooCommerce, email, and reseller packages include a first-month promotion for Β£1 when the relevant discount code is applied. Some services also receive introductory discounts of up to 50% for the initial billing period. Renewal costs should therefore be considered separately from the initial promotional price.
The company does not currently charge VAT, so the displayed GBP price is normally the final amount payable rather than a pre-tax figure that increases during checkout.
Monthly billing is available across much of the range, allowing customers to test a service or upgrade without committing to a long multi-year contract.
The refund policy applies only to selected shared-hosting purchases and requires a request within 7 days. Refunds remain subject to manual approval and service usage. VPS, VDS, root-access servers, domain registrations, renewals, and services carrying third-party provisioning costs are generally non-refundable.
Service credits issued under the uptime SLA are applied to the customer account for future eligible services and are not paid as cash refunds.
🏢 Data Center
Hosting and virtual server services use a United Kingdom β EU-LO location, while the London VPS and VDS ranges specifically use infrastructure in London, United Kingdom.
The main website operates from IP address 185.237.12.30 on Kamatera infrastructure in London. The associated network is AS210329 β Kamatera Inc Hosting. The domain nameservers resolve to 185.237.12.30 and 185.237.99.88.
The formal service-level agreement includes a 99.95% monthly uptime guarantee for eligible core hosting infrastructure. This covers qualifying hosting availability, the server environment, and essential network connectivity when the interruption is within the providerβs control.
Scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, external network failures, DDoS attacks, third-party services, registrar problems, DNS propagation, customer configuration errors, plugins, scripts, excessive resource consumption, suspended accounts, and local internet-provider problems are excluded from the uptime calculation.
Eligible customers can request a manually assessed service credit when monthly availability falls below 99.95%. Credits are not issued automatically and are applied against future hosting charges.
The service status history records 100% availability for the current month, 100% for the previous month, and a 99.99% average over the preceding three-month period.
Shared hosting is governed by a fair-usage policy. Standard hosting includes a general 100GB monthly bandwidth allowance, while Business Hosting includes 250GB. VPS and VDS traffic allocations depend on the selected configuration, with the main virtual server plans including 5TB of monthly transfer.
✍️ Customer Support
Customer support is available through the account portal, ticket system, email, online knowledge base, and website live chat. The client area is also used for billing, service administration, domain management, and virtual server controls.
The knowledge base covers common tasks involving hosting, domains, email accounts, DNS, SSL certificates, DirectAdmin, and server management.
Migration assistance is available for WordPress websites, static websites, custom PHP applications, database-driven websites, email accounts, and complete hosting transfers. The migration process can include files, databases, DNS changes, SSL configuration, email setup, and final testing.
Managed customers receive additional help with WordPress updates, weekly backups, SSL certificates, DNS configuration, plugin and theme issues, website recovery, and small content changes.
Standard VPS and VDS support covers the virtual server platform and account-level controls. Operating-system administration, software configuration, firewall maintenance, application updates, security, and backups remain the customerβs responsibility.
The main contact email is *[info@websitehosts.uk](mailto:info@websitehosts.uk)*.
🔨 Control Panel
DirectAdmin is the primary control panel for shared hosting, WordPress hosting, business hosting, Shared Cloud Hosting, and reseller services.
It allows customers to manage websites, domain names, DNS zones, email accounts, databases, website files, SSL certificates, PHP versions, redirects, and backups from one interface.
Reseller customers receive DirectAdmin reseller functionality for creating packages, allocating resources, and managing separate customer accounts. This provides customer isolation without requiring the reseller to administer a complete virtual server.
Email hosting includes Roundcube webmail, while IMAP, POP3, and SMTP support allow mailboxes to be configured in desktop applications, smartphones, and other email clients.
VPS and VDS customers receive a separate client portal for server power controls, rebooting, reviewing configuration details, and resetting the root password. Server administration itself is completed through root access and the customerβs preferred command-line or management tools.
🎯 Conclusion
Website Hosts UK offers an unusually broad range of services for a smaller UK hosting provider. Customers can begin with an inexpensive static website, move to DirectAdmin or WordPress hosting, upgrade to Shared Cloud Hosting, and eventually progress to a VPS or dedicated-CPU VDS without changing providers. Its main strengths are affordable entry prices, NVMe storage, DirectAdmin across the managed hosting range, professional email accounts, free SSL certificates, flexible monthly billing, London-based virtual server options, and a formal 99.95% uptime guarantee.
The Β£1 first-month promotion provides a low-cost way to test many shared, WordPress, WooCommerce, email, and reseller packages. The managed Β£50 plan is also useful for small businesses that need regular WordPress maintenance, backups, SSL and DNS assistance, and occasional website changes without employing a dedicated developer.
Technical users receive configurable VPS plans with root access, 5TB traffic, multiple Linux distributions, up to 128GB RAM, and up to 1TB NVMe storage. Customers who do not want to manage Linux can remain on DirectAdmin or Shared Cloud Hosting and allow the provider to maintain the underlying server environment.
The main weakness is limited corporate transparency. The company does not display a registered legal entity, company registration number, physical business address, or telephone number. New customers placing a large VPS, VDS, or annual hosting order should therefore confirm the billing identity, begin with a shorter billing term, and maintain independent backups.
Overall, Website Hosts UK is best suited to UK small businesses, WordPress users, ecommerce projects, developers, freelancers, and agencies that want flexible monthly hosting, DirectAdmin management, and a clear upgrade path from basic shared hosting to virtual servers.

😁 I have used this company since been a student in 2019 on its shared hosting plan, great customer services and technical support and up-time. Recently they have upgraded their services now they provide VPS/VDS which is competitively priced compared with many larger hosting and cloud providers.
I use have been using its VPS which is easy to set up and server responds using the default Nginx in approximately 65 ms from London, 79β88 ms across mainland Europe, 213 ms from New York, and remained responsive from Asia and Australia, Sidney being the longest to respond at 786.96 ms according to KeyCDN performance.
