😠 Eirca servers went down a couple weeks ago, taking with it all our accounts. Servers were down for five days, FIVE DAYS. They got their own site up after 24 hours, but took down the help desk, the only means of contacting them (phones don't work, chat doesn't work, all email addresses bounce, etc.). So customers had no way to communicate with their provider for the entire outage + two days after.

Simon, owner and "CEO" vaguely claimed it was a network issue, but needed to resolve it with their control panel provider Parallels (?!), and couldn't resolve it until normal business hours (Parallels tech support is 24/7, SALES is normal business hours - what the!).

No official RFO (reason for outage) was given after servers were put back online, and nothing was posted in their news/blog/help desk about the matter. Repeated attempts to cancel through their help desk have been ignored, so we simply moved our customers (a painful process) and stopped paying our bill. I suggest all [read more...]

😠 READ THE REVIEWS HERE and be warned.

EIRCA is a scam. Non-existant support. Our dedicated server was down for 8 hours overnight. Phone numbers do not work. Live chat hasn't worked in over a year. Emails will not get answered. Try them yourself for proof.

If you are looking to spend money with EIRCA (upgrade a server, buy a hosting package, etc.) Simon, the owner, will get back to you promptly. They take your money and you are left with nothing.

I personally paid for a RAM upgrade as my server was extremely slow. Cost me $600 and it never happened. After roughly 50 support tickets and 8 months, support finally said the were installing the RAM. After the alledged installation, windows server 2003 still resported 1GB or RAM. Multiple support tickets later, EIRCA's response was their must be a glitch in the OS.

EIRCA is a reseller for Softlayer.com. Simply remove EIRCA from the equation and sign up directly with Softlayer.com. I have had nothing but positive [read more...]

😠 my eirca reviews - stay away from eirca at all costs!!! tickets get closed without any response, live chat is broken, phone line is broken, help desk is sometimes offline, but no responses anyway, so it doesn't matter. cost is good, but with zero support, you may as well colo for half the price. "genius" control panel has good features, but no staff supporting it. we sent some servers to Rackspace and a couple to PacificRack and never looked back. if your thinking about eirca, do your homework before you make a big mistake!!! www.webhostingtalk.com is a good place to learn more - search and see!

📜 About Eirca

EIRCA Internet Solutions – Ahead of Its Time, Closed Too Soon (2000–2010)

EIRCA Internet Solutions, founded in the early 2000s, established itself as a progressive hosting company well before the widespread adoption of cloud computing. Based on innovation, high availability, and flexibility, the company built a reputation for integrating powerful dedicated servers, shared hosting, and cloud technologies under a unified platform called The Genius Network™.

Despite its pioneering approach, EIRCA ceased operations in 2010, leaving behind a service legacy that combined robust infrastructure with thoughtful engineering.

The Genius Network™: A Holistic Approach to Hosting
At the core of EIRCA’s operations was The Genius Network™, an ambitious, all-in-one hosting infrastructure that combined redundant hardware, geographically distributed data centers, and seamless interoperability between cloud, virtual, and dedicated environments. Designed to remove common points of failure, the system was engineered for maximum uptime, scalability, and security.

Unlike many competitors that relied on single-network setups, EIRCA's infrastructure was distributed and resilient. With hot-swappable components and cloud-enabled failover, the company sought to eliminate downtime risks even in shared and reseller environments—well before this became standard in the industry.

Flexible, Client-Driven Services
Whether clients needed shared Linux or Windows hosting, reseller packages, or fully managed dedicated servers, EIRCA offered a high degree of customization and control. Hosting accounts could be toggled between operating systems without additional cost, a rare feature at the time. And unlike rigid hosting plans, EIRCA’s services were provided month-to-month, with no long-term contracts required.

The hardware used for hosting was enterprise-grade across the board, with specifications that exceeded common market offerings:

Eight-core processors (minimum 2.0GHz per core)

RAID-configured SCSI drives with redundancy

8GB RAM minimum, scalable on demand

Fully redundant networking and power components

True Cloud Integration Before It Was Mainstream
One of EIRCA’s most forward-looking achievements was the integration of cloud computing instances into its infrastructure. The Genius Network allowed clients to combine virtual servers, cloud resources, and dedicated machines in a seamless environment—something even large enterprise providers struggled to offer at the time.

This enabled users to scale without sacrificing performance or control. The system also allowed automated backups, multi-location failover, and hybrid cloud-deployment—a level of flexibility that was still novel in 2009.

Customer Control and Server Management
EIRCA offered both self-managed and fully managed hosting solutions. Clients could opt to take full control of their server environments, or rely on EIRCA’s in-house technicians for day-to-day maintenance and management. This flexible support structure appealed to both tech-savvy developers and businesses without in-house expertise.

Support services were channeled through The Genius Portal, a proprietary client interface offering detailed control over all hosted services. This approach simplified account management and allowed for faster resolution of issues—without relying on disconnected third-party platforms.

Market Impact and Closure
By mid-2009, EIRCA was considered one of the more innovative mid-sized hosting companies. A customer-focused platform, high-touch support, and consistently modern infrastructure helped build a global client base across shared, reseller, and dedicated hosting segments.

Despite these advances, EIRCA unexpectedly closed in 2010. The reasons were not made publicly clear, though industry speculation suggested strategic challenges and market consolidation were likely factors. Nonetheless, its infrastructure and ideas predated trends that only became common years later.

Conclusion
EIRCA Internet Solutions was a standout player during a transitional period in the hosting industry. At a time when many providers were just starting to consider the benefits of virtualization and hybrid infrastructure, EIRCA had already built a fully operational, cloud-integrated platform. Its Genius Network™ anticipated what the industry would only begin to adopt years later—resilient, flexible, client-centric hosting environments.

Though it closed its doors in 2010, EIRCA’s approach remains a blueprint for how smart engineering and client empowerment can shape a compelling hosting experience. For its customers, it wasn’t just about renting server space—it was about being part of a platform built for growth, performance, and genuine technical excellence.

😞 I had a reseller account with EIRCA for a year or two. A few weeks ago I moved myreseller operations to a different host because the feature-set and price are better than what EIRCA offered. I terminated all my EIRCA client domains, and then I found that it was impossible to contact EIRCA to tell them to cancel the account. I submitted several "Tickets" through their support portal (tickets to the sales group, to tech support, etc...) telling them I'd cancelled the account. But none of the tickets was ever acknowledged, even after weeks had gone by. I sent a number of email messages to their accounting department (accounting@genius.eirca.net), but they never responded.
The "Live chat" link on their main website is dead. The "contact us" link just goes to a form for submitting a ticket -- which will not be responded to.
And their toll-free number [I had to do some DEEP searching even to find it---on their Blog pages] has been disconnected and is no longer in service.
