This makes the company especially suitable for German-speaking online retailers that want their ERP platform, databases, online shop and hosting infrastructure managed by one technical team.

Managed JTL-WAWI Cloud provides Windows-based virtual and dedicated cloud servers for accessing JTL-WAWI from different offices, warehouses and remote locations. Virtual configurations begin with 2 CPU cores, 8 GB of ECC memory and 100 GB of NVMe storage. Larger dedicated systems provide as many as 32 processor cores, 256 GB of memory and 3.2 TB of storage.

Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server Express, an administrative Remote Desktop account, CloudAPP access, unlimited traffic, snapshot backups, an external cloud firewall, monitoring and server management are included according to the selected package. Each package is instead optimized for a recommended number of simultaneous users. Managed ecoDMS Cloud combines managed infrastructure with the ecoDMS document-management system. The standard Web Hosting range includes 10 GB to 30 GB of SSD storage, MariaDB or MySQL databases, hosted domains, unrestricted regular traffic, email accounts, Let’s Encrypt certificates, SSH access and LiteSpeed Enterprise. CloudLinux separates customer resources, while Redis is available for applications that benefit from object caching. Shop Hosting provides stronger resources and configurations optimized for JTL-Shop, Shopware, PrestaShop and WooCommerce. The combination of LiteSpeed, Redis, dedicated resources and managed security gives the shop packages a better foundation for transactional e-commerce workloads than basic shared hosting. Separate WordPress Hosting and Joomla Hosting products provide CMS-oriented configurations. Domain services cover more than 1,500 extensions, allowing businesses to manage domains, email, hosting and cloud infrastructure through the same provider.

Security services include Managed Endpoint Security, based on SentinelOne technology for Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile devices. Higher management levels add support from an external security operations center, emergency assistance and root-cause analysis.

PasswdCloud provides encrypted password vaults for an unrestricted number of users. It includes centralized administration, cross-platform access, encrypted attachments and end-to-end protection. The master password remains under the customer’s control and is not accessible to the hosting provider.

ecomDATA concentrates on managed services instead of low-cost unmanaged VPS and bare-metal rentals. Systems arrive preconfigured, while operating-system maintenance, monitoring, security and backups are handled according to the selected management package. Provisioning for standard services is commonly completed within approximately one hour.

The website has a modern design and works properly on current desktop and mobile screens. It is primarily available in German, and a complete multilingual or English-language version does not exist. Products are sold in EUR exclusively to business customers, with prices displayed without VAT.

💰 Price & Cost

Prices are competitive for the entry-level hosting services but move into the premium range once application management, security monitoring and technical administration are included.

Standard Web Hosting begins at approximately €9.95 per month, while Shop Hosting starts at around €24.95 per month. Managed Web Server packages begin at approximately €69.95 per month when ordered with the longer billing options.

Managed JTL-WAWI Cloud begins at approximately €39.40 per month for a virtual system with 2 CPU cores, 8 GB of ECC memory and 100 GB of NVMe storage. Larger virtual configurations cost approximately €59.40 or €79.40 per month, while dedicated cloud packages begin at around €168.45 per month.

Managed Nextcloud starts at approximately €9.95 per month with 2 TB of storage. Managed ecoDMS Cloud begins at approximately €29.40 per month, including management and one ecoDMS user license.

Managed JTL-Shop and Managed Shopware services begin at around €34.90 per month with annual billing. More flexible monthly contracts generally have a higher effective monthly price.

Endpoint protection begins at approximately €8.90 per device per month with annual billing. PasswdCloud starts at approximately €4.90 per month under an annual commitment. Microsoft licenses, extra Remote Desktop users, commercial SQL Server editions, data migrations and advanced management options can increase the final cost.

Depending on the product, billing can be monthly, quarterly, semiannual or annual. Longer terms normally provide the lowest effective monthly rate. Hosting contracts renew automatically for the selected period unless terminated at least 30 days before the contract ends.

Payment methods include credit card, advance payment by bank transfer and SEPA direct debit.

Many hosting and cloud packages include a 30-day money-back guarantee. The guarantee depends on the selected service and does not automatically cover domain registrations, software licenses, migration work or individually configured services.

All prices are listed in euros and exclude Austrian VAT because services are offered exclusively to business customers.

🏢 Data Center

The hosting infrastructure is located in Nuremberg, Germany. The data-center environment includes redundant electrical systems, uninterruptible power supplies, emergency generators, controlled physical access, continuous surveillance and perimeter protection.

The facility operates within an ISO/IEC 27001-certified environment. Core systems use enterprise equipment from manufacturers including HP, Dell, Supermicro, Juniper, Cisco and Ubiquiti.

Network protection includes Arbor and Juniper filtering against denial-of-service attacks. This infrastructure helps protect websites, online shops, databases and business applications against common volumetric and network-layer threats.

The standard network commitment is 99.9% availability. Availability guarantees can vary according to the product and management agreement. When availability falls below the contractual target, affected customers can request service credits under the applicable Service Level Agreement.

Credits increase by 10% for every additional 0.5 percentage-point shortfall, up to a maximum credit of 50% of the monthly fee for the affected product. Planned maintenance, customer-generated problems, external software faults and other defined exclusions are not included in the availability calculation.

Infrastructure monitoring operates continuously across more than 10,000 measurement points. Normal service checks run at intervals of approximately one to five minutes, while critical infrastructure events can trigger an active response around the clock.

Planned maintenance normally takes place between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Maintenance expected to cause an interruption longer than two minutes is generally announced at least one business day in advance when operational conditions allow it.

Backup coverage depends on the selected product. Managed ecoDMS includes daily backups stored at a geographically separate location approximately 150 kilometers from the primary infrastructure, with a retention period of 14 days. Cloud-server and managed-server packages also include snapshot or external backup options according to their configuration.

ecomDATA operates its own autonomous system, AS211582, together with independently registered IPv4 and IPv6 address space. Hetzner is the visible upstream network provider. The autonomous system gives ecomDATA direct control over its address announcements and routing policies.

The infrastructure and company offices use 100% renewable electricity under the environmental provisions included in the Service Level Agreement.

✍️ Customer Support

Customer support is handled by trained technical personnel rather than a general outsourced call center. This is particularly useful for JTL-WAWI, JTL-Shop, Shopware, Microsoft SQL Server, Remote Desktop and managed-server problems that require application-level knowledge.

Regular telephone support is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Austrian and German telephone numbers. Customers can also submit support tickets through the customer center at any time.

Tickets are prioritized according to urgency, product and management level. Selected management packages include a 24/7 emergency telephone service, with response times determined by the purchased Service Level Agreement.

Critical infrastructure monitoring continues around the clock even outside normal office hours. This allows network, hardware and managed-service incidents to be detected without waiting for a customer report.

The support center includes technical documentation, video instructions and a customer forum covering JTL-WAWI, Remote Desktop, printing, Windows cloud services, Shopware and general hosting administration.

Personal consultations are available by telephone or video conference. Customers can discuss infrastructure requirements, application compatibility, licenses, storage capacity and migration planning before ordering.

The optional migration service can transfer websites, online shops, email accounts, JTL-WAWI databases and other business data. Managed JTL-Shop customers can also receive coordinated assistance involving JTL-Software when an incident extends beyond the hosting platform.

Support, documentation and customer communication are primarily available in German. The company is therefore most suitable for customers in Germany, Austria and the wider German-speaking market.

🔨 Control Panel

Standard Web Hosting uses DirectAdmin. Customers can manage domains, websites, databases, email accounts, SSL certificates, PHP settings and other hosting functions through the control panel. SSH access is also available for command-line administration and deployment tasks.

A separate customer center handles orders, invoices, service settings, support tickets and monitoring information. Managed Web Server customers use the same central environment while ecomDATA maintains the operating system, security stack, backups and core server services.

Managed Windows and JTL-WAWI Cloud systems are accessed through Remote Desktop or the CloudAPP launcher. An administrative Remote Desktop account is included, while additional simultaneous users require the appropriate Microsoft licensing.

Managed Nextcloud, ecoDMS and PasswdCloud retain their own application interfaces. PasswdCloud also provides a central administration console for managing users, password vaults and organizational access policies.

The standard shared-hosting range does not use cPanel or Plesk.

🎯 Conclusion

ecomDATA is particularly well suited to established online retailers and German-speaking companies that require more than basic website hosting. Its principal strength is the combination of JTL expertise, managed Windows infrastructure, optimized shop hosting and direct technical support.

Few conventional hosting companies cover the complete operational chain from JTL-WAWI and Microsoft SQL Server to JTL-Shop, Shopware, Redis, server monitoring, backups, security and application updates. Keeping these components with one provider can simplify responsibility when a shop, ERP database or synchronization process develops a problem.

The managed approach also reduces the customer’s administrative workload. Servers arrive configured, monitoring and backup services are integrated, and technical staff can assist with migrations, updates, security incidents and communication with application vendors.

Nextcloud, ecoDMS, endpoint protection and PasswdCloud extend the range beyond public website hosting into wider business IT. This makes ecomDATA practical for companies that want to centralize online shops, internal documents, remote applications, user access and endpoint security.

The principal limitations are the B2B-only sales model, prices excluding VAT, the German-language environment and the lack of a low-cost unmanaged VPS catalog. The 99.9% network availability commitment is adequate for many business applications, although companies with stricter requirements may prefer a management package with stronger contractual coverage and a carefully planned disaster-recovery configuration.

For businesses using JTL-WAWI, JTL-Shop, Shopware or Windows-based commercial applications, ecomDATA remains a strong specialist option. Its prices are higher than those of commodity hosting providers, but the additional cost includes technical administration and application expertise that budget hosting normally leaves entirely to the customer.
