Z.com is the international domain, hosting, email, website, and cloud-services brand of Japan-based GMO Internet Group. The parent group was established by Masatoshi Kumagai in 1991, entered the internet business in 1995, and developed a large portfolio covering domains, hosting, online security, payments, advertising, and financial technology.

The Z.com domain was acquired from Nissan Motor in 2014 for 800 million yen and became the group’s global brand. Commercial domain and hosting operations under the Z.com name started in 2015. The domain itself is especially distinctive because it is one of only six single-character .com names.

The Philippine operation is managed by GMO-Z.com Philippines, Inc. It combines localized Philippine pricing and payment methods with the technical resources of a much larger international group. GMO operates across numerous countries and locations, while the broader organization employs several thousand people.

The service range is considerably wider than ordinary shared hosting. Customers can register domains, host websites, create professional email accounts, build websites with AI tools, order managed WordPress hosting, resell hosting accounts, or move to regional cloud infrastructure.

The cloud environment is based on OpenStack and supports Linux and Windows virtual machines, block storage, public IP addresses, scheduled backups, private networks, firewalls, load balancers, NFS storage, application templates, AI tools, and game-server templates.

Dedicated Host reserves a complete physical virtualization host from which several virtual machines can be created. Configurations reach up to 96 virtual CPU cores and 128 GB or 256 GB RAM. This is more suitable for corporate virtualization and private cloud deployments than for a customer who only needs one traditional dedicated server.

The Philippine website is modern, responsive, and available in English. Regional Z.com operations also provide localized interfaces in languages including Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Product currencies vary by market, with Philippine pesos in the Philippines and Thai baht in Thailand.
