Witweb is a Swiss web hosting and domain provider operated by Webopolis GmbH (webopolis.ch) from Zurich. The hosting brand has been active since 1998, while Webopolis GmbH was incorporated in 2006. Daniel Wild serves as managing director and company contact.

The company offers a broad range of services covering Linux shared hosting, business hosting, reseller hosting, cloud servers, dedicated servers, managed servers, domain registration, domain transfers, SSL certificates, website building, email hosting, hosting add-ons and automatic application installation. More than 5,000 customers use its services.

Shared hosting is divided into Basic, Optima and Premium packages. Every package includes unlimited traffic, email accounts, FTP accounts and subdomains, together with daily backups, ticket support and Plesk administration.

Basic includes 15 GB of storage and is suitable for personal websites, simple company presentations and smaller projects. Optima increases the allocation to 30 GB, while Premium provides 60 GB. The larger packages are better suited to WordPress installations, online stores and customers managing several databases or websites.

Business Hosting provides larger allocations for commercial projects. Professional includes 100 GB, while Ultimate increases the available space to 200 GB. Both packages include unlimited traffic, email accounts, subdomains and domain aliases. These plans offer a practical intermediate step between ordinary shared hosting and a private server.

Reseller Hosting is available with between 50 GB and 500 GB of storage and supports 10 to 160 separate customer accounts. Resellers can define their own packages and prices, create hosting templates, manage DNS records and sell domains and SSL certificates under their own commercial identity.

Witweb remains in the background when services are resold, making the platform suitable for web designers, developers and smaller digital agencies. WHMCS billing automation is available as an optional addition, and reseller accounts can be upgraded without having to recreate existing customer subscriptions.

Cloud servers provide isolated Linux environments with root access and scalable resources. Customers can choose between self-managed and managed administration. Configurations range from one processor core, 2 GB RAM and 50 GB storage to 16 cores, 32 GB RAM and 800 GB storage.

Dedicated servers are available as unmanaged root servers or fully managed systems. Managed administration covers operating-system maintenance, software updates, monitoring and backups. The available configurations include Intel Atom and Intel Xeon processors, RAID 1 storage, SSD options and memory allocations reaching 64 GB.

Some server configurations still include CentOS 8, an operating system that has reached end of life. Dedicated-server prices also vary between individual price boxes and the main comparison table. Customers ordering a server should obtain written confirmation of the processor, operating system, disk configuration, control-panel license, management level and final monthly price.

Domain registration covers more than 900 extensions. Customers remain the legal holders of their domains and may transfer or sell them. Domain transfers ordered together with hosting may be completed without an additional service fee, although renewal costs and registry-specific conditions continue to apply.

The SSL range includes domain-validated, wildcard, organization-validated and extended-validation certificates. Several products retain older Comodo PositiveSSL and GeoTrust branding. Some certificate information also uses older browser terminology associated with green address bars and green padlock icons, so the current issuing authority and validation procedure should be confirmed before ordering.

The SiteGo (sitego.ch) website builder includes more than 200 responsive templates. Customers can also add storage, domain aliases and independently hosted additional domains without immediately moving to a larger package.

Witweb mainly serves German-speaking customers. Most commercial information is written in German, with occasional English headings and generic template text. The client portal supports a much wider selection of languages, including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Romanian, Swedish, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese and Arabic.

Prices are displayed in Swiss francs (CHF). The website has an older design and contains remnants from previous hosting templates. Generic cPanel and WHM wording still appears in some areas, although the active hosting packages use Plesk.

These inconsistencies make the detailed package table, shopping cart and written order confirmation more reliable than introductory banners or older promotional text.
