webhoster.de AG is an independent, owner-managed German hosting company founded in 1996 by Jan Schumacher, who continues to lead the business as a member of its executive board. The company began while Schumacher was studying business informatics and business administration at the University of Paderborn and gradually developed into a specialized provider of managed hosting, WordPress services, domains, email, virtual servers, and private-cloud infrastructure.

The company is headquartered in Möhnesee, North Rhine-Westphalia, while its principal hosting location is Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Its services are suitable for individuals, small and medium-sized businesses, web agencies, online shops, and organizations that prefer managed infrastructure combined with German support and European data protection. More than 10,000 websites and businesses use its hosting environment.

The main product is Managed WordPress Hosting, available in Starter, Pro, and Business configurations. These plans combine high-frequency CPU resources, NVMe storage, LiteSpeed Enterprise, CloudLinux isolation, Imunify security, daily backups, free TLS certificates, email hosting, and the WordPress Toolkit.

WordPress management is considerably more complete than a basic shared-hosting account. Customers receive one-click installation, staging, Smart Updates, vulnerability scanning, malware detection and removal, object caching, Git, SSH, FTP, cron jobs, multisite support, and a web-based file manager. The security environment includes a web application firewall, DDoS protection, bot filtering, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and inbound and outbound SpamExperts filtering.

The Starter package is suitable for a personal website, association, freelancer, or small business. It includes one WordPress installation, 10 GB NVMe storage, 10 email accounts, 2 GB of usable RAM, one vCore, and a free .de domain.

The Pro package increases the allocation to five WordPress websites, 75 GB NVMe storage, 100 email accounts, 8 GB RAM, and four vCores. Business supports 10 WordPress websites, 150 GB NVMe storage, 32 GB RAM, and eight vCores.

Some package specifications and mailbox limits differ between the main company website and the final product configuration portal. The current configuration and checkout total should therefore be checked before completing an order.

A free migration service is available for existing websites. The transfer can cover WordPress files, databases, domains, email accounts, and related configuration work. This is particularly useful for customers who want a managed migration without handling DNS records, databases, mailboxes, and application settings independently.

The managed servers also include LiteSpeed Enterprise, WordPress Toolkit, CloudLinux or AlmaLinux, Imunify360, email hosting, spam filtering, daily backups, staging, Git, SSH, malware removal, and DNS/CDN integration through Cloudflare.

The traffic allocations are 324 GB for Startup, 648 GB for Business, and 972 GB for Agency. These limits are relatively modest for premium managed servers and deserve attention when hosting large downloads, video content, software repositories, or websites with unusually high traffic.

A separate VMware Hosting range is available for companies building private virtual-machine environments. The three configurations are VMware L, XL, and XXL, intended for environments containing up to approximately 100, 200, and 300 virtual machines.

VMware L includes 20 physical CPU cores, 40 virtual cores, 128 GB RAM, and starts at €499 per month. VMware XL provides 40 physical cores, 80 virtual cores, 256 GB RAM, and 3.84 TB of RAID 1 storage for €714 per month. VMware XXL increases the allocation to 48 physical cores, 96 virtual cores, and 768 GB RAM for €1,299 per month.

These VMware packages have a 12-month minimum term and can include administration, monitoring, DDoS protection, root access, Veeam backup, additional hosts, and SAN or iSCSI storage. The configurations still reference VMware 6.5 or newer and older Intel Xeon processor generations, so the current hardware, licensing conditions, and final availability should be confirmed directly before starting a long-term enterprise deployment.

Domain registration is available independently or together with hosting. The service includes DNS management, automatic renewal, theft protection, unlimited subdomains, and WHOIS privacy where the relevant registry supports it. German, European, and international generic domain extensions are available.

Email is integrated into the hosting and managed-server packages. Customers receive IMAP and SMTP access, webmail, authenticated mail delivery, spam filtering, and the standard domain-authentication mechanisms required for reliable email delivery.

The company can also prepare WordPress websites and WooCommerce shops. A website package is available from approximately €20 per month, including a domain and hosting, together with a one-time setup fee.
