UNAXUS is a Swiss web hosting, cloud, and managed infrastructure provider with roots going back to 2006. The company is based in Widnau, in the canton of St. Gallen, and has developed from conventional hosting into a broader infrastructure business covering NVMe Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Domain Registration, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Root Servers, Managed Servers, and Infrastructure as a Service.

The present operating company, unaxus GmbH, was incorporated in Switzerland in 2022, with statutes dated May 25, 2022 and entry in the St. Gallen Commercial Register on June 14, 2022. It operates under Swiss UID/MWST number CHE-484.340.194 and commercial-register number CH-320.4.094.523-9. Marc Schuler was the original shareholder and remains chairman of management. In 2023, all 200 shares were transferred to Internet Group Holding AG (internetgroup.ch), which became the sole owner. Anton Schuler, Nicole Schuler, and Dominik Brändle are also part of the company's management structure.

The hosting operation has passed several important technical milestones. Server operation moved in-house in 2014, its own Internet backbone followed in 2016, backbone technology was upgraded to 100 Gbit/s in 2022, and the hosting platform moved to a new Full NVMe cloud architecture in 2023. UNAXUS has handled more than 1,550 projects and serves more than 8,000 customers.

The core product for ordinary website customers is NVMe Web Hosting / WordPress Hosting. Storage is based entirely on enterprise NVMe drives rather than using NVMe only for caching. PHP applications use LSAPI, while web-hosting servers can operate with connectivity of up to 25 Gbit/s. Security and recovery tools include Imunify360, JetBackup 5, SSL support, and SSH access.

Three main cloud-hosting plans cover a wide range of website sizes. Cloud Hosting 250 GB includes 250 GB NVMe storage, 200% CPU allocation, 2 GB RAM, ten domain slots, and 100,000 inodes. Cloud Hosting 500 GB increases resources to 500 GB NVMe, 400% CPU, 4 GB RAM, unlimited domain slots, and 250,000 inodes. Cloud Hosting 1000 GB provides 1 TB NVMe storage, 600% CPU allocation, 6 GB RAM, unlimited domain slots, and 500,000 inodes.

All three plans include App Cloud access, Mail Cloud, unlimited MySQL 8 databases, SSL, SSH, JetBackup 5, and Imunify360. The storage quotas are particularly generous for a Swiss shared-hosting service and make even the smaller packages suitable for customers with substantial websites, email archives, or multiple applications.

The App Cloud gives customers access to more than 450 applications, including WordPress, Joomla, Laravel, Symfony, PrestaShop, and Magento. Many applications can be installed and updated automatically. Different PHP generations and individual PHP settings can also be selected from the hosting interface, which is useful when maintaining both modern applications and older websites.

Email is integrated with the hosting environment. Customers can create mailboxes, access webmail, and synchronize email, calendars, and contacts with computers and mobile devices.

Business email customers can choose Microsoft Exchange 50 GB, which includes a 50 GB Exchange mailbox with webmail, IMAP, and POP3 access. Configuration assistance is included, while existing Exchange or IMAP mailboxes can be transferred through a separate migration service.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard Managed adds Microsoft's business productivity suite together with UNAXUS administration and support. The package includes Exchange together with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, 1 TB OneDrive storage, and the other applications included with Microsoft 365 Business Standard. Users, passwords, and subscribed products can be administered through a separate Microsoft management interface.

Domain Registration and Domain Transfers are available through the customer portal. The portfolio includes Swiss and international extensions such as .ch, .li, .de, .at, .eu, .com, .net, .org, .fr, .it, and .nl together with numerous newer generic extensions. Registration, renewal, and transfer prices vary according to the TLD.

The infrastructure portfolio starts with Root Servers. These can use Linux or Windows and are available as dedicated or virtualized environments. Customers receive root or Administrator-level control together with KVM console access, while higher-performance configurations can use network connectivity of up to 10 Gbit/s.

Managed Servers are aimed at businesses that need dedicated or virtual server resources without wanting to administer the complete infrastructure themselves. Linux and Windows configurations are available for websites, online shops, applications, mail systems, and other business workloads. Management and monitoring can be combined with formal SLA coverage.

At the higher end, Infrastructure as a Service provides individually configured cloud environments rather than a fixed VPS catalog. Deployments can include redundant infrastructure, managed operation, custom computing resources, and SLA coverage, making this more suitable for business-critical projects than for customers simply looking for the cheapest virtual server.

The main Swiss website operates in German, while an English version is also available. The customer portal has substantially broader localization and supports Arabic, Azerbaijani, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Persian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
