PSW GROUP is a German Internet-security specialist founded in 2000 by Christian Heutger in Langenselbold, near Frankfurt am Main. The business is now based in Fulda, Hesse, Germany and operates through PSW GROUP GmbH & Co. KG. Patrycja Schrenk became managing director on March 1, 2019, after Heutger transferred management to the company's long-serving marketing director. The organization is privately held and falls within the 11–50 employee range.

The company began as an Internet-services provider and developed into a full-service supplier for digital certificates, encryption, authentication, certificate lifecycle management, electronic signatures, security consulting, and training. A close cooperation with Sectigo, then known as Comodo, made certificates and signature products a central business area in 2003. The 2004 combination with Schroff & Partner broadened its technical and media capabilities, and PSW became a registration authority in 2009, allowing it to perform identity validation for certificate applications.

The proprietary PSW Console launched in 2019 as the central certificate-management environment. Managed PKI is designed for companies that need centralized certificate issuance for multiple departments, employees, customers, partners, devices, or domains. Administrators can assign rights at domain and profile level, control who may request, approve, renew, or revoke certificates, and integrate issuance through web interfaces or automated APIs. The wider lifecycle toolset includes inventory, expiry reminders, deployment scanning, role-based controls, two-factor authentication, IP restrictions, and optional key escrow. This turns certificate purchasing into a governed operational process rather than a sequence of unrelated renewals.

Electronic signing covers document-signing certificates, advanced electronic signatures, qualified electronic signatures, and Signius volume packages for 500, 2,000, or 5,000 signatures. The service can support contracts, invoices, approvals, and other document workflows where the signer must be attributable and document integrity must be protected. Available certificate-authority choices and identity-validation requirements vary by product, so regulated buyers should match the signature level to the legal and operational purpose.

The portfolio extends beyond certificate issuance. Website Security includes SiteLock malware protection, CodeGuard backup services, and HackerGuardian vulnerability scanning. CodeGuard provides automated backups, reporting, source-change alerts, malware monitoring, and one-click restoration, while vulnerability scanning supplies web-based scheduling, findings, and remediation guidance. Server and application software licenses include Plesk, LiveConfig, CloudLinux, and PDFlib.
