📄 Editorial Review

Media3, legally registered as Media3 Technologies, LLC, is an American managed cloud, application hosting, and infrastructure company founded in 1995. The company is headquartered in Pembroke, Massachusetts, and has accumulated more than three decades of experience with Windows hosting, ColdFusion, databases, virtual desktops, and enterprise application environments.

Bob Hayes is the company’s co-founder and CEO, while Robert Hayes is also identified as the business owner. Media3 remains a privately held specialist with a relatively compact technical organization rather than operating as a large, publicly traded cloud corporation.

The present service range is built primarily around managed infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Media3 operates as a direct Tier-1 Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider and combines Azure resources with configuration, migration, monitoring, administration, security, and technical support. This creates a more comprehensive service than purchasing an unmanaged virtual machine directly from a hyperscale cloud platform.

The server portfolio includes managed Windows cloud servers, Linux cloud servers, cPanel servers, Plesk servers, WordPress-optimized hosting, SmarterMail servers, Windows 365 Cloud PCs, virtual desktops, and AI/Data Science virtual machines. Customers receive preconfigured environments without having to build the operating system, network, security, monitoring, and backup structure independently.

Linux and Windows cloud servers include managed network infrastructure, operating-system maintenance, monitoring, DDoS mitigation, and optional backup or disaster-recovery services. cPanel and Plesk are available for customers who prefer familiar hosting administration interfaces. WordPress environments also include WordPress Toolkit functions for installation, staging, cloning, updates, backups, debugging, and security management.

The SmarterMail service provides an alternative to conventional Microsoft Exchange hosting. It supports MAPI connectivity, webmail, instant messaging, audio and video conferencing, screen sharing, and collaboration tools. Windows 365 Cloud PC and Media3 WorkPlaces move business desktops and applications into centrally managed cloud environments that remain accessible from computers, tablets, and other supported devices.

ColdFusion hosting remains one of Media3’s strongest specialties. The company has worked with ColdFusion since its earliest releases and maintains Premier Adobe Hosting Partner status. Its ColdFusion range includes managed ColdFusion Enterprise servers, individual ColdFusion cloud sites, load-balanced environments, high-availability clusters, and HIPAA-oriented infrastructure.

This experience is particularly valuable for organizations maintaining established CFML applications that require knowledgeable administrators rather than generic server support. Media3 can manage the application server, operating system, databases, security, backups, and availability architecture as a coordinated environment.

The database portfolio includes Azure SQL, dedicated Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis. Managed database services can include patching, monitoring, scaling, encryption, backups, replication, point-in-time recovery, and disaster recovery. Cosmos DB adds globally distributed NoSQL capabilities through APIs compatible with NoSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin, and Table workloads.

High-availability options extend across ColdFusion, Linux, and Windows environments. Load balancing can distribute traffic between multiple application instances, while health checks can automatically remove failed nodes. Session affinity is also available for applications that need individual users to remain connected to the same application server.

Geo-redundant deployments can use several Azure regions for failover, data sovereignty, geographic routing, and improved latency. Auto-scaling can increase or reduce capacity according to traffic, processor use, memory consumption, or predefined schedules.

Security services form another substantial part of the portfolio. Available options include Azure Front Door Premium, web application firewalls, DDoS protection, next-generation firewalls, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, managed VPN connections, and compliance assistance.

The web application firewall protects against common threats such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting. More specialized deployments can include custom security rules, geographic filtering, bot controls, intrusion prevention, URL filtering, antivirus inspection, application awareness, and private network access.

Basic infrastructure DDoS protection is included with managed cloud properties. More advanced security environments can add continuous monitoring and dedicated mitigation services. Compliance support covers frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001, while government-oriented systems can be deployed through Azure Government. Eligible healthcare environments can also incorporate Business Associate Agreements.

Storage and continuity services include Azure file shares, blob storage, SMB access, file synchronization, managed backups, standby servers, and multi-region disaster recovery. External backup destinations can include Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage, providing additional flexibility for multi-cloud recovery strategies.

Additional services cover cloud migration, artificial intelligence, cognitive services, analytics, DevOps, SaaS architecture, single sign-on, content delivery, and government cloud projects. Single sign-on integrations can connect hosted applications with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, or Google Workspace through SAML and OpenID Connect.

Media3 can also assist with directory synchronization, role mapping, user provisioning, multifactor authentication, and passwordless access. These options are particularly useful for companies that need to centralize authentication across several cloud applications.

The CDN service distributes content closer to website visitors, reduces load on origin infrastructure, and improves availability. Delivery options include Microsoft infrastructure and networks such as Akamai. This type of service is suitable for international websites, software downloads, media content, and applications that require consistent response times across several geographic markets.

Free migration assistance is available for new and existing customers. The migration team can handle an individual database, a complete server, an application farm, or a larger modernization project. Migration strategies can range from a conventional lift-and-shift transfer to a more extensive redesign based on managed databases, native cloud services, high availability, and geographic redundancy.

A partner and reseller program is available for developers, web agencies, managed service providers, system integrators, and value-added resellers. There is no initial participation fee, and partners can resell the complete service range under their own pricing structure. Discounts generally range from 20% to 30%.

Media3 provides infrastructure-level assistance to its partners, while resellers remain responsible for supporting their own end customers. The program is therefore best suited to businesses that already maintain a customer service operation but need an experienced cloud and hosting provider behind the infrastructure.

Dedicated servers continue to form part of the broader infrastructure environment, although the current commercial direction is centered much more heavily on managed cloud servers and Azure-based systems than on standardized bare-metal packages.

The website operates in English, and service prices are expressed in U.S. dollars. The main interface has a modern and responsive structure, although some older hosting and contractual sections retain legacy terminology and software references.

One .NET hosting section continues to reference Windows Server 2012 R2, IIS 8, Silverlight, and FrontPage, while newer company information covers Windows Server 2022, ColdFusion 2023, and SQL Server 2022. Customers purchasing legacy-compatible hosting should have the exact operating-system, application, and database versions included in the final service quotation.
