📜 Plan description

It provides the only L2-based Internet eXchange (IX) in Korea and is directly connected to major ISPs at home and abroad through high-speed lines.

KINX's large-scale network backbone network that transmits traffic of 3 million domestic Internet users provides a stable Internet

The basic bandwidth of 100Mbps dedicate (based on Full Rack) guarantees ample and fast lines, and when additional lines are added, it is possible to reduce operating costs by providing it at a reasonable price.

📄 Editorial Review

KINX, short for Korea Internet Neutral eXchange, is a South Korean enterprise infrastructure provider founded on June 17, 2000. Its development began with the Korean Internet Interconnection Conferences organized by independent Internet service providers in 1998, followed by the creation of the KINX Management Center in 1999 and the beginning of commercial operations in July 2000. The company was listed on KOSDAQ in February 2011 and is led by CEO Jee Wook Kim, who became sole CEO in March 2020.

KINX operates within the Gabia corporate group. Its expansion included the acquisition of KGRID in September 2011, NOWCOM’s CDN business unit in August 2012, and A2Company in April 2014. The company has an estimated workforce in the 51–200 employee range and maintains a specialized B2B structure focused on network operators, cloud users, digital platforms, media companies, enterprises, and public organizations.

KINX is not a conventional shared hosting company. Its portfolio does not center on Linux shared hosting, Windows shared hosting, reseller accounts, domain registration, website builders, or standardized cPanel plans. Its core business covers Internet exchange services, IP transit, private network connectivity, colocation, dedicated infrastructure, cloud interconnection, public and private cloud, CDN, video delivery, managed infrastructure, and network security.

The foundation of the company’s network portfolio is IX Peering. KINX operates a neutral Layer 2 Internet exchange where participating networks can exchange traffic directly instead of sending domestic traffic through upstream transit providers. Local peering supports 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 10 Gbps ports, settlement-free traffic exchange, route-server access, and direct interconnection with Korean and international networks.

Remote peering extends this connectivity to Hong Kong and Japan through international circuits and overseas points of presence. It gives Korean networks access to additional Asian exchanges while allowing foreign operators to reach Korean peers without placing equipment in every domestic facility.

The broader Connectivity range includes cross-connects, Data Center Interconnection, global interconnection with Hong Kong and Japan, and China Direct Connect. Cross-connect customers can establish private links between their own equipment, another customer, or a selected carrier within a meet-me room. DCI connects infrastructure distributed across multiple data centers through dedicated links, supporting both lower committed bandwidth and customized high-capacity configurations.

China Direct Connect is intended for companies requiring more stable and predictable access to mainland China. It uses China Telecom’s CN2 network rather than ordinary international Internet routing, making it suitable for online stores, gaming platforms, media services, SaaS applications, and enterprises operating between South Korea and China.

The IP Transit portfolio includes domestic and international connectivity. Domestic transit can use major Korean operators such as KT, LG U+, SK Telecom, and SK Broadband. International options include BBIX, GCX, NTT, and PCCW. Customers can combine several carriers for redundancy, optimized routing, improved availability, and more control over bandwidth costs.

Colocation and server hosting are available across the metropolitan data-center footprint. Customers can install their own servers and network equipment, lease customized server resources, choose their preferred carrier, use KINX peering and transit, and add backup, monitoring, software rental, security, or remote-hands assistance. Dedicated server infrastructure is configured through business consultation rather than sold as fixed retail packages with instant checkout.

Security services accompanying colocation include managed firewalls, web application firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, antivirus protection, DDoS-related protection, vulnerability analysis, policy management, logging, reporting, and continuous monitoring. Shared firewall options are suitable for lighter traffic requirements, while dedicated appliances support larger bandwidth commitments and more complex security policies.

CloudHub is KINX’s private cloud-connectivity platform. It connects on-premises systems and colocated equipment with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Naver Cloud, NHN Cloud, and KINX IXcloud. This structure supports hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud, disaster-recovery, financial-network, and international cloud architectures without routing sensitive traffic through the public Internet.

CloudHub is available through hosted and dedicated connection models. The hosted configuration can connect several cloud platforms through one physical connection and includes a managed router, BGP assistance, monitoring, and portal access. The dedicated model provides greater control over routers, cloud circuits, BGP sessions, operational policies, and failure management. Router ports and BGP sessions can scale from modest financial or branch connections to 10 Gbps enterprise links.

The portfolio also includes midibus, an integrated video platform covering encoding, media storage, video-on-demand delivery, live streaming, playback, and analytics. midibus commerce extends this environment with short-form video and live-commerce tools for online shops and product platforms.

The CDN service distributes websites, applications, images, files, software, video, and mobile content through Korean and international delivery infrastructure. It is suited to businesses that require faster delivery, scalable traffic handling, and reduced load on their origin systems.

IXcloud is KINX’s OpenStack-based cloud platform, operating since 2012. It includes general-purpose instances, SSD instances, GPU instances, autoscaling, Kubernetes, container services, block volumes, NAS, snapshots, backups, file cloud, load balancing, CDN, private networks, security services, and KDX direct connectivity.

IXcloud can be expanded with managed migration, continuous monitoring, monthly operational reporting, high-availability deployment, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and blockchain infrastructure. Security options include firewalls, web application firewalls, SSL certificate administration, database protection, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, malware protection, ransomware blocking, and web-shell detection.

KINX supports Korean and English, while service prices are primarily quoted in South Korean won (KRW). The interface is modern, responsive, and suitable for both desktop and mobile devices. English-language service information is extensive, although several application and account sections continue to use Korean labels.
