iNames (INAMES Co., Ltd.) is one of South Korea’s long-established domain and hosting companies, incorporated on April 18, 2001 and currently led by CEO Kim Tae-je. Its history is closely connected with the development of South Korea’s domain-registration market. The company originated from the separation of the .KR domain-registration operation from the Korea Network Information Center (KRNIC) and participated in the early competitive .KR registrar system. It operates as an ICANN- and KISA-accredited registrar and supports more than 300 domain extensions.

Domain registration remains one of its strongest areas. Customers can register Korean extensions such as .kr, .co.kr, .or.kr, .ne.kr and .pe.kr, international extensions including .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .shop, .me, .tv and .cc, various country-code extensions and Korean internationalized domain names. Domain-management functions include transfers, renewals, nameserver administration, forwarding, parking, expiration synchronization, registration certificates, expiration notifications, domain locking and related DNS management tools.

The hosting portfolio covers considerably more than basic domain services. Linux Shared Hosting ranges from i Mini+ through i Special. The entry package provides 500 MB of web space and 30 GB of monthly traffic, while higher plans reach 25 GB of storage and 750 GB of monthly traffic. MySQL databases are available throughout this hosting family. Customers without a production domain can use an ftpid.inames.kr temporary hostname while preparing their website.

Full SSD Hosting is the faster shared-hosting alternative and uses SSD storage throughout the hosting server environment. The Full SSD Light package starts with 1 GB of web space and 30 GB of monthly traffic, while Full SSD Special reaches 25 GB and 750 GB. Email accounts are included according to the selected plan.

Microsoft-based hosting is available through both Windows Hosting and Windows .NET Hosting. Windows packages use IIS and Microsoft SQL Server, while the .NET range accommodates ASP.NET applications developed with technologies such as C# and VB.NET. Windows hosting reaches 20 GB of storage on the larger plans, while .NET hosting reaches 10 GB.

Some technical specifications associated with these hosting families are considerably older than current production standards. Legacy references include Windows Server 2008-era systems, older IIS and MSSQL combinations, old Linux distributions and outdated PHP releases. A new production deployment should therefore confirm the operating system, PHP, database and framework versions currently provisioned before placing an order.

Cloud Hosting is based on KT Cloud infrastructure and provides configurable virtual CPU, memory, storage and network resources. Virtual machines can be provisioned through a web management interface, disks can be expanded and snapshots or reusable images can be maintained. These specifications are unsuitable as a basis for a new 2026 deployment unless the actual current image catalog has first been confirmed.

Formmail Hosting provides hosted form processing for applications, reservations, orders and similar website functions. A free isForm package is available alongside commercial versions with more forms and greater storage capacity. Separate Image Hosting and DB Hosting services are also part of the portfolio.

Firewall, intrusion-protection and monitoring services can be added to managed infrastructure deployments.

Server rental reduces the initial hardware investment, and applicable rental agreements can transfer ownership of the equipment after completion of the required contractual period.

Website development and maintenance services are available alongside domains and hosting, allowing Korean businesses to combine registration, infrastructure and website production under the same provider. Additional services have included Smart Builder Lite, mobile website tools and mobile invitation products.

The company operates primarily in Korean, and no general multilingual/localized version exists across the main domain, hosting, IDC and customer-service environment. This makes the service less convenient for international customers who do not read Korean. Commercial pricing is primarily in South Korean won (KRW), and most service prices are displayed excluding VAT.
