IBI (ibi.net) is a long-established South Korean Internet services company headquartered in Seoul. Its history dates to July 25, 1995, when Lee Pan-jeong (이판정) founded IBI during the early commercial development of Internet and domain services in South Korea. The business converted into a corporation on July 10, 1997, adopted the Netpia name in March 2000, and IBI was separated again as an independent operation in September 2003. The company is currently led by CEO Bae Jin-hyun.

With more than three decades of history behind the original business, IBI belongs to an older generation of Korean Internet providers. Domains remain an important part of the operation, complemented by Linux hosting, Windows hosting, webmail hosting, video/streaming hosting, SSL certificates, code-signing certificates, website development, e-commerce development, website maintenance, mobile development and corporate domain management.

Shared hosting is separated into Personal and Business packages, with Basic, Standard and Special levels available under both Linux and Windows platforms. Storage starts from 500 MB and reaches 6 GB, while the daily traffic allowance ranges from 1 GB to 8 GB. Database capacity starts at 10 MB and rises to 400 MB on the larger packages. These resource limits are modest by current hosting standards, making the plans more appropriate for traditional business websites, lightweight applications and established projects than resource-intensive modern deployments.

Linux hosting includes FTP access, phpMyAdmin and three traffic resets per month. SSH access is available, while Telnet is no longer part of the platform. Windows hosting maintains compatibility with classic ASP-oriented technologies and components including DextUpload, SiteGalaxy and ABCUpload, together with ASP, CGI, Perl and payment-related modules. Some parts of this environment reflect IBI's long operating history, so customers running recent PHP, ASP.NET, database or CMS software should confirm the exact runtime versions required by their applications before migration.

Webmail Hosting operates as a separate professional email service using the customer's own domain. Mail can be accessed through a browser or conventional email clients, with POP3 and SMTP support, spam filtering, server-side virus protection, forwarding, address books, bulletin-board functions and administrative account management. Personal packages provide 3 GB, 6 GB or 10 GB of total storage, with support for up to 3, 3 and 10 email accounts respectively. Administrators can distribute the available capacity among individual mailboxes.

IBI also maintains Video Hosting for streaming content. Packages provide 500 MB, 1 GB or 3 GB of storage with monthly traffic allowances of 24 GB, 60 GB or 300 GB. Supported media formats include WMV, ASF, WMA and MP3. Streaming is suspended when the monthly traffic allocation is exhausted unless additional bandwidth is purchased. This service is primarily suitable for established projects built around older streaming formats rather than contemporary adaptive-video platforms.

Domain services form one of the strongest parts of IBI's portfolio. They cover new registrations, renewals, transfers, ownership changes, nameserver management, domain locking, DNS-zone management, parking, forwarding, restoration of expired domains and expiration management. Available extensions include .kr, Korean-language domains, international generic extensions, country-code domains and numerous newer TLDs.

Corporate customers with larger portfolios can use CDMS – Corporate Domain Management Service, consolidating multiple company domains into a centralized administration process. DNS-zone management is also available for customers who want to keep their domains registered with IBI while directing specific DNS records toward external hosting or application infrastructure.

Security services include SSL certificates and code-signing certificates. SSL choices include AlphaSSL, DomainSSL, OrganizationSSL and Extended/EV products from GlobalSign, with wildcard options available for compatible certificate classes. ObjectSign code-signing certificates support software signing, timestamping and certificate reissue.

Website production remains another significant part of the business. IBI handles conventional corporate websites, shopping sites, customized development projects, mobile projects, website renewal and ongoing maintenance. Basic, Silver, Gold and individually quoted Project options allow customers to combine domains, hosting and site-development work through one Korean supplier.

The website itself retains an older design and workflow, with technical references extending back to technologies such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Flash-era software and older Windows environments. It is considerably less modern than contemporary responsive hosting storefronts, particularly on small screens. An English-language website version does not exist, making the service primarily suitable for Korean-speaking customers.
