Hostpoint AG is one of Switzerland’s most established web hosting providers, headquartered in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. The company has been active since 2001, when Markus Gebert, Sandro Bertschinger and Claudius Röllin started the business with a focus on affordable web space, e-mail and simple hosting management for Swiss customers. Today, Hostpoint remains a Swiss, owner-managed provider with around 130 employees and more than 1.3 million managed domains.

Hostpoint is best suited for customers who want Swiss-based hosting, domains, e-mail, website creation and managed infrastructure from one provider. Their portfolio includes Shared Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Managed Flex Server, Domains, Domain Shield / Domain Privacy, DNS, SSL Certificates, E-mail & Cloud Office, Drive, Meet, Website Builder / Sites, Webshop, SEO tools and Migration Services. Their platform is strongly oriented toward Swiss data residency, with hosting infrastructure located in Switzerland.

The shared hosting line is organized into Standard, Smart and Business plans. These packages include NVMe SSD storage, unlimited mailboxes with 5 GB per mailbox, MariaDB databases, SFTP/SSH access, FreeSSL, DDoS protection, backups and the proprietary Hostpoint Control Panel. Higher-tier plans increase storage, domain capacity, database limits and backup retention, while Business adds a stronger support level.

For customers needing more power, Managed Flex Server is Hostpoint’s premium managed server line. Hostpoint is also strong in domains. They are an ICANN-accredited registrar and provide domain registration, domain transfers, DNS hosting, DNS zone management, redirects, name server management, Domain Shield, Domain Privacy, Whois lookup and Swiss-specific extensions such as .ch and .swiss. Their Domain Shield service adds protection against domain loss and data misuse through Swiss Domain Trustee AG.

The e-mail side is also well developed. Cloud Office plans include professional e-mail, calendars, contacts, Drive storage, online documents, real-time collaboration and migration support. Hostpoint Meet adds free, ad-free video conferencing over Swiss servers, with encrypted connections, screen sharing, chat, password protection and no stated time or participant limit.

Their website and ecommerce tools target non-technical users as well. Sites is the website builder product with templates, drag-and-drop editing, AI text support, multilingual website options, FreeSSL and included e-mail. Webshop packages include ecommerce hosting, product catalogs, payment options such as PayPal, PostFinance, Saferpay, Mollie and Twint, SEO tools, Google Shopping options, vouchers and integrations depending on plan level.
