Hivelocity is a U.S.-based infrastructure provider founded in 2002 in Tampa, Florida. The company started from a single rack of servers and developed into a global bare metal, virtual server, private cloud and colocation platform. The early company history is connected with Mike Architetto and Steve Eschweiler, while the current business is now part of the wider Colohouse group after the acquisition completed in April 2024.

Hivelocity is not a classic low-cost shared hosting provider. Their catalog is built mainly around Dedicated Servers, Bare Metal, VPS, VDS, Private Cloud, Enterprise Cloud, Colocation, Server Management, Object Storage, Backup, Firewall / DDoS protection, Unmetered Ports, and infrastructure automation. Standard shared hosting, beginner website builder packages, cheap domain hosting, and bundled small-business email hosting are not the main direction of the company.

Their strongest customer profile is technical.
