GKG.NET is an American domain registrar and web hosting provider established in 1993 by brothers Paul Marvin and Taylor Marvin. The business entered the Internet services market in 1994 under the Global Knowledge Group name and moved into commercial operations during the following years. Its early customer base included organizations such as Texas A&M University, Airtouch and Cellular One.

GKG later became the seventh accredited and thirteenth operational registrar for .com, .net and .org domains. It continues to operate as an ICANN-accredited registrar under IANA ID 93, although its present domain portfolio is much smaller than those managed by the leading international registrar groups.

Domain registration remains the central part of the business. Customers can register, renew, transfer and restore domain names, process bulk orders, manage internationalized domains, activate registrar locks and add private registration. Domain forwarding, parking, DNSSEC and DNS management are also available. Domains registered through GKG include DNS hosting without a separate charge.

The company also operates the Humane Domains program, through which one dollar from every qualifying registration is donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Shared hosting is available on Linux and Windows platforms. The Personal plan includes 5 GB of storage, 250 GB of monthly transfer, one hosted domain, 30 subdomains, 500 email accounts and ten MySQL databases. The SOHO plan raises the allowance to 100 GB of storage and 1 TB of transfer, while supporting unlimited hosted domains, 1,000 mailboxes and 25 MySQL databases.

The Corporate package includes 150 GB of storage, 1.5 TB of monthly transfer, unlimited domains, 1,500 mailboxes and 50 MySQL databases. The Developer package reaches 250 GB of storage, 2 TB of transfer, unlimited domains, 2,000 mailboxes, eleven FTP accounts and 50 MySQL databases.

Linux hosting includes cPanel, FTP access, MySQL databases, website statistics, HotLink protection, email forwarding, autoresponders, spam filtering, antivirus protection and WordPress support. Higher-level packages also include scheduled-task functionality.

Windows hosting is available with the Personal, SOHO and Corporate packages. These accounts use Plesk and include Microsoft SQL Server and ASP.NET support. The Developer package is primarily intended for Linux users.

GKG also provides traditional Linux reseller hosting. The Simple, Basic, Advanced, Deluxe and Premium packages range from 5 GB to 100 GB of storage and from 125 GB to 350 GB of monthly transfer. Domain allowances start at 50 accounts and reach an unlimited level on the larger packages. cPanel and WHM are included for creating and managing customer hosting accounts.

Additional services include domain parking, URL forwarding, email aliases, DNS hosting for externally registered domains, SSL certificates, wildcard certificates, private Whois registration and domain-management APIs. Website design, e-commerce development and custom application development are also available.

GKG does not operate a normal public catalog for VPS, cloud servers or dedicated servers. Dedicated servers, leased servers, bandwidth and colocation still appear in contractual documents, but these services are not offered through standard configuration and ordering pages. They are better regarded as legacy or individually arranged services.

The website supports English and Spanish, while prices are displayed in US dollars.

The service platform is functional, but several technical specifications have not kept pace with the modern hosting market. References to PHP 4, early PHP 5 versions, FrontPage Extensions, ASP.NET 2.0, Flash, Horde and SquirrelMail belong to an older generation of hosting environments.

The SSL section also includes outdated terminology related to the former extended-validation "green address bar," which is no longer used by modern browsers. Customers should confirm the current PHP, database, operating-system, control-panel and certificate versions before ordering.

GKG has received several ICANN compliance notices during its long period of operation. Notices from 2014, 2016 and 2018 were resolved, while another breach notice was issued in September 2023 and followed by extensions to the cure period. The company nevertheless remains an active ICANN-accredited registrar.
