Empire Hosting is a U.S. hosting and infrastructure provider operated through Lowest Host/Empire Technology LLC. The business has been active since around 2000, giving it a considerably longer operating history than many small independent hosting providers. Lowest Host/Empire Technology LLC was registered in Utah in 2007, with Dale Moravec associated with the business, while the company operates from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Its service portfolio is broader than conventional shared hosting and includes Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Windows VPS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, Rent-to-Own Colocation, High Availability Hosting, SSL Certificates, Domain Registration and domain reseller services. Server software licenses are also available, including cPanel, DirectAdmin and WHMCS, together with additions such as CloudLinux, KernelCare, monitoring, firewall configuration, extra IP addresses and server-management services.

Shared Hosting uses cPanel and CloudLinux and includes Softaculous, Installatron, backup functionality, SpamAssassin, MySQL databases, FTP, webmail, cron jobs, CGI, Curl, Perl, Ruby on Rails and ImageMagick. The Starter package includes 1 GB of storage and 10 GB of monthly bandwidth, while larger accounts increase storage, transfer capacity and addon-domain limits. The clearly defined resource allocations make these packages suitable for customers who prefer predictable limits rather than loosely defined unlimited hosting.

Reseller Hosting combines cPanel and WHM with CloudLinux, Softaculous and Installatron. Packages range from five to 50 cPanel accounts and from 1 GB to 50 GB of storage. The reseller environment is white-label, allowing customers to create their own hosting packages and pricing while retaining responsibility for their end users.

The VPS portfolio is one of the more extensive areas of the service. Virtualization choices include KVM, Xen, OpenVZ/Virtuozzo and Windows VPS, with managed and unmanaged options available. KVM servers use SSD storage and Virtualizor, while managed configurations begin with approximately 1 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD storage, 1 TB transfer and one CPU core. Larger plans scale to around 8 GB RAM and four CPU cores. IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity are supported in the primary hosting locations.

Unmanaged KVM and Xen VPS plans start around $4.99 per month, while managed KVM and Xen plans begin around $19.99 per month. Managed OpenVZ configurations start at approximately $25.99 per month. Windows VPS packages start around $38.99 per month and include Remote Desktop access, console functions and ISO-based rescue capabilities. Some Windows references still include older releases such as Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012, so customers requiring a particular modern Windows Server version should confirm the available operating-system choices before ordering.

Dedicated Servers are available in managed and unmanaged configurations. Linux management includes operating-system updates and assistance with cPanel/WHM, DirectAdmin and installed server software, while Windows systems are generally unmanaged unless an additional management option is purchased. Network choices include monthly data-transfer allocations as well as higher-capacity 100 Mbps and Gigabit connections. Dedicated server inventory is presently unavailable in the ordering system, and the configurations include older Xeon E3 and dual Xeon E5 hardware. This makes the range more suitable for budget-oriented workloads than customers specifically looking for current-generation server platforms.

Colocation is available in Las Vegas, Nevada and South Bend, Indiana. The Rent-to-Own Colocation option is relatively unusual. Customers can acquire server hardware through an agreed payment period and become the owner of that equipment at the end of the term. The server can then remain colocated with Empire Hosting or be shipped to another destination.

High Availability Hosting is available for applications requiring more resilience than a single server can provide. Configurations can include active/passive failover, load balancing, database replication, file synchronization, clustering and DNS-based geographic failover between facilities. These installations are customized according to the application and therefore require individual pricing.

SSL certificates are available in several validation levels, including domain-validated and extended-validation products. Pricing has started from around $7.50 per year. Internal cPanel and DirectAdmin licenses are also available for systems hosted inside the company's infrastructure, while WHMCS licensing supports hosting resellers and service providers.

The company website has an older design, and its news/announcement section has also gone largely unmaintained, with posts dating back many years. This reinforces the impression of a long-established provider whose public-facing website receives limited ongoing updates. Functionality remains straightforward, although the presentation is clearly less modern than that of newer hosting platforms.
