Domene.no, operated by Domene AS, is an established Norwegian domain registrar and hosting provider founded in 1998 by Finn Krøvel. The company began with specialized internet services and search engine optimization before expanding its domain, email, and website services to a wider market in 2008. More than 20,000 private and business customers have used its hosting or email services since the company was established.

Domene AS joined Miss Group (missgroup.com) on January 31, 2023. At the time of the acquisition, the company had more than 10,000 customers, managed over 16,000 domain names, and had achieved billings growth above 25% during the 2022 financial year. Finn Krøvel left the business following the transaction, and operational management passed to the wider group.

The product range extends well beyond domain registration. Customers can purchase domain names, DNS management, professional email, shared web hosting, website creation tools, Cloud VPS, Microsoft 365 subscriptions, SEO tools, VPN services, website security, and identity protection. The main infrastructure products are shared hosting and virtual private servers, without a separate retail range of bare-metal dedicated servers.

Domain customers can register Norwegian and international extensions, transfer existing domains, manage DNS records, create forwarding rules, and use email addresses connected to their own domain. Standard email works through POP3, IMAP, and webmail, while businesses needing synchronization and collaboration can choose hosted Microsoft Exchange. Exchange subscriptions begin at 39 NOK per month.

The shared-hosting range contains four packages with 5 GB, 15 GB, 30 GB, or 50 GB of SSD storage. Depending on the selected plan, customers receive between 10 and 50 email accounts, one to five MySQL databases, FTP access, PHP 8, DNS management, webmail, visitor statistics, spam protection, antivirus filtering, daily backups, and free SSL/TLS certificates. LiteSpeed and CloudLinux form the technical foundation of the shared environment.

WordPress, Joomla, and other popular applications can be installed through one-click tools. SitePad provides a visual drag-and-drop website builder, with smaller packages supporting up to ten pages and the largest plan allowing an unlimited number of pages. Nettside AI adds AI-assisted website creation for customers who want to build a professional site without writing code.

Website security is integrated into the hosting environment through continuous malware scanning. Infected files can be neutralized automatically, followed by a notification to the account owner. Full backups are created daily and retained for three weeks. A separate monthly security backup remains available for two months, providing an additional recovery layer for damaged or compromised websites.

The Cloud VPS range is suitable for customers who need root access, dedicated resources, custom operating systems, or applications that cannot run within shared hosting. Standard VPS configurations include 2 to 8 GB RAM, two to four processor cores, 40 to 80 GB of SSD storage, and 3 to 5 TB of monthly bandwidth. The Gold range increases capacity to as much as eight vCPUs, 32 GB RAM, 320 GB of storage, and 7 TB of bandwidth through a 100 Mbit connection. Resources can be adjusted through the OnApp interface, while compatible cPanel migrations are handled without an additional migration fee.

Microsoft services form another important part of the portfolio. Office Online includes browser-based Office applications, a 50 GB Exchange mailbox, and 1 TB of OneDrive storage. Higher packages add desktop Office applications and expanded Exchange functionality. Separate subscriptions are available for Teams Essentials, Visio, Power BI Pro, and Microsoft Copilot, with technical assistance available for setup and configuration.

The SEO tool scans websites, follows keyword rankings, monitors competitors, produces optimization reports, and connects with Google Analytics. The VPN service provides encrypted connections, IP address protection, access through international server locations, and a no-log policy.

Sikker Web adds daily malware removal, vulnerability monitoring, software patching, web application firewall protection, CDN functionality, bot filtering, and emergency website cleaning. Personal and corporate ID protection monitors credentials, financial information, employee details, company domains, and dark-web exposure. The SAFE package combines identity monitoring, VPN access, legal assistance related to fraud, professional advice, and insurance coverage.
