Artmotion AG is a Swiss cloud, secure hosting, and cybersecurity provider founded in 2000 by Mateo Meier. The company is headquartered in Steinhausen, Canton Zug, Switzerland, while its hosting infrastructure is concentrated in Zürich. Rather than competing primarily in low-cost shared hosting, Artmotion focuses on encrypted cloud infrastructure, dedicated servers, virtual data centers, GPU computing, managed hosting, data sovereignty, and security testing. Its customer base extends across more than 30 countries and includes medium-sized companies, large enterprises, and Fortune 500 organizations.

The company has a long history in the Swiss hosting market. Artmotion acquired competitor Cyberhost in 2003, approximately doubling its size, entered a joint venture with EveryWare in 2011, expanded further into encryption-focused cloud services in 2018, and later invested in cybersecurity specialist Citadelo. Artmotion is particularly suitable for organizations where data residency, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, encryption, and direct infrastructure control are more important than bargain-level hosting prices. Swiss jurisdiction is central to its positioning, especially with the Swiss Sovereign Cloud, which is intended for organizations that want both their data and provider to remain under Swiss legal jurisdiction.

One of the core products is the Encrypted Cloud Server platform. Customers can deploy Linux or Windows environments with root or administrator access, at least 3,000 GB of bandwidth, and one public IP address. Backup and firewall options can be added, and annual commitments are not required for this service. The network availability commitment is 99.9% uptime.

Security is a particularly strong part of the platform. Artmotion uses AES 256-bit XTS encryption for stored data and supports encryption both at rest and during transmission. Depending on the service architecture, encryption can be implemented per disk, per server, or across storage infrastructure. The Encrypted Virtual Datacenter service provides a considerably more advanced private-cloud environment built around VMware (vmware.com) vCloud Director and vSphere. Data sharding can also divide encrypted information into separate pieces and distribute them among different storage locations.

The Dedicated GPU Server range is intended for artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, analytics, engineering, rendering, scientific computing, video processing, CAD, and financial modeling. Platforms can be assembled around HPE DL360, DL380, and DL385 systems, with GPU choices including NVIDIA Tesla P100, V100 and A100, Quadro RTX 8000, RTX A6000, RTX Titan, K80, and AMD Radeon VII. GPU availability can change rapidly, so the precise accelerator generation should be confirmed when configuring a new server.

Managed Services significantly expand the infrastructure offering. Artmotion can handle installation, configuration, monitoring, software updates, backups, cybersecurity, and routine infrastructure administration. Managed environments have a 99.95% uptime guarantee, daily server and application backups, and real-time monitoring.

Managed CMS hosting covers WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, TYPO3, Concrete CMS, and other content-management systems. This is more appropriate for organizations that want managed infrastructure and security around their CMS environment than for customers simply looking for inexpensive shared WordPress hosting.
