Oct, 2003 : Digital River Signs Health Tech Firm for E-commerce
📅 - Minnesota-based e-commerce outsourcing firm Digital River (digitalriver.com) said today it has signed a Web hosting and e-commerce agreement with HealtheTech, Inc., a developer of handheld medical devices and software for metabolism and nutrition monitoring.
Under the terms of the agreement, Digital River built and launched HealtheTech's new e-commerce site and in addition to hosting the site, is providing order management, digital software delivery, e-marketing and fraud prevention screening.
"We are pleased to host and manage HealtheTech's e-commerce site," said Joel Ronning, CEO of Digital River. "Companies tap our e-commerce expertise for many reasons, including our reliable, world-class e-commerce system and suite of e-commerce services that help our clients create a superior online shopping experience for their customers."
Sandy MacPherson, general manager and chief marketing officer for HealtheTech, said the decision to outsource was based on several factors. "We wanted a more robust and comprehensive system that would enhance the customer experience and extend our current sales and marketing efforts," said MacPherson. "Not only did Digital River's e-commerce system have the capabilities we were looking for, but the economic value proposition of its outsourcing model also fit the bill."
