📅 November 17, 2003 - Qwest Communications (qwest.com -> lumen.com) saidFriday it would purchase certain assets from 360networks Corporation tohelp extend its nationwide high-speed data network.

As part of the agreement, Qwest will purchase several fiber network routesfrom Vancouver-based 360networks, including Seattle to Billings, Mont.;Billings, Mont. to Denver; Denver to Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Billings,Mont. to Minneapolis.
The company also said it would purchase assets from Touch America allowingQwest to support hundreds of frame relay and asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) customers.
The agreement is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2003, pendingbankruptcy court approval. Qwest said 360networks has committed tosupporting the transition of customers from Touch America to Qwest oranother provider.
Qwest Communications is based in Denver, Colorado.
