Nov, 2003 : Netcraft Reports 1&1, EV1Servers Lead Growth
📅 - UK-based 1&1 Internet (oneandone.co.uk -> fasthosts.co.uk) and Texas-based EV1Servers (ev1servers.net) were the fastest growing hosting providers in the world for the one-year period September 2002 to October 2003, according to research and analysis firm Netcraft's (netcraft.com) hosting provider server count.
According to the survey, 1&1 Internet went from 4,458 to 13,908 servers, an increase of 212 percent, while EV1Servers jumped from 4,962 to 112,084 servers, an increase of 145 percent.
The survey found that Alabanza, Hostway and SRS Sakura were the third, fourth and fifth fastest growing hosting providers, with server growth increases of 104, 97, and 67 percent respectively.
Netcraft's survey only included providers that started with at least 600 servers, finished with a minimum of 1,000, and grew at a rate of 66 percent or better.
Earlier in the month, Netcraft published research that found 1&1 Internet to be the largest Web hosting provider in the world.
