Dec, 2003 : SAVVIS, HyperFeed Launch Data Delivery Service

📅 December 16, 2003 - Managed services provider SAVVIS Communications (savvis.net -> lumen.com) and HyperFeed Technologies (hyperfeed.com), a developer of ticker plant technology, software and managed services, said on Monday that they have entered into a partnership to launch the SAVVIS Data Delivery Utility, a global network distribution service that allows the delivery of real-time financial applications and content.

According to the companies, SAVVIS' Data Delivery Utility combines HyperFeed's Managed Exchange Platform Services (MEPS) and H!BOX software with SAVVIS' global infrastructure and management and monitoring systems. Data will be compressed by HyperFeed technology and delivered to users over SAVVIS' global multicast network.
The companies said the new service offers the industry's first service level agreements that guarantee network performance.
"The Data Delivery Utility service is a fluid, decentralized approach to financial data delivery that will fundamentally change the way financial content is processed, transmitted, and delivered," said Paul Pluschkell, president of HyperFeed. "It also empowers market participants by giving them more control over the data sources they select. By leveraging our technology across SAVVIS' proven, high-performance financial network in a managed utility approach, we created the most direct, cost-conscious solution for financial content distribution."
According to the companies, the Data Delivery Utility service is completely data vendor agnostic.
