👈 Official Responses: 0 -> lumen.com) announced on Monday that it has formed a strategic alliance with GTSI (gtsi.com), an IT service provider for government agencies.


Under the partnership, SAVVIS will become GTSI's preferred provider of a wide range of managed hosting and IT infrastructure services for the federal agencies that outsource their IT services to GTSI.

On its website, GTSI says it has a select portfolio of alliance partners that it collaborates with for each GTSI infrastructure program to achieve customer goals.

With the growing energy and data center space concerns, the federal government has been increasingly outsourcing its IT infrastructure requirements instead of owning and operating IT infrastructure in house.

GTSI recently celebrated ten consecutive years of having International Organization for Standardization certification, which is now referred to as ISO 9001-2000, for its solutions integration and distribution center.

The partnership seems like a logical one as the two companies both serve a customer base that is mostly comprised of government agencies.

GTSI, which moved into a new headquarters at Dulles View in Herndon, Virginia in November, provides IT solutions to the government and is striving to meet the growing demand for outsourced and managed IT services.

SAVVIS provides a range of IT infrastructure services including managed and colocation hosting, virtualized computing and storage services, managed networks, and managed security services to meet the needs of government and commercial enterprises.

In September, SAVVIS launch a new line of software as a solution services to help independent software vendors meet the rapidly growing demand for service-based licensing and delivery models.

According to the press release, SAVVIS' "IT infrastructure-as-a-service delivery model closely aligns with GTSI's Technology Lifecycle Management, a framework for government agencies in the acquisition, deployment, management, support, and disposal of technology to meet business objectives and budgets."
