📅 - VitalStream (vitalstream.com -> inap.com), a provider of content delivery, streaming and Web hosting services, and InteleNet Communications (intelenet.net -> ionos.com), a provider of managed hosting and data center services, announced Tuesday that they have formed a partnership intended to increase the network capacity and redundancy of their respective networks.
Under the agreement, the networks of each company will serve as a failover for the other. Should one network fail, operations would automatically transition to the other network.
The companies said the alliance will bolster the reliability of VitalStream's content delivery network and add greater capacity to InteleNet's network.
"The Internet, like today's modern companies, is dynamic. VitalStream's network was already recognized for its reliability and performance by industry experts," says Paul Summers, president and chief executive officer of VitalStream. "By teaming with InteleNet to engineer a cooperative backbone, the VitalStream content delivery network gains another safety valve for bandwidth and continues to push the leading edge of technology."
Intelenet operates a 55,000 square foot data center facility in Irvine, California. VitalStream's content delivery network is certified for deployment in the United States, Europe and Asia.
"Blending our network with VitalStream's network provides us with a greater worldwide presence and increased connectivity to multiple fiber carriers providing further capacity and redundancy to our already state-of-the-art facilities," said Mark Towfiq, president and CEO of InteleNet. "This relationship reinforces our ability to provide the premium performance, rapid scalability and flexibility that we offer to our customers."
