Jan 9, 2008 : InteleNet Expands Data Center
📅 - Managed hosting and colocation provider InteleNet Communications (intelenet.net -> ionos.com) announced on Tuesday it has started construction on the expansion of its Irvine, California data center. The expansion, which features 12,000 square feet of new space, will have sufficient infrastructure to meet the needs of its high density computing customers.
With its recent acquisition by Managed Data Holdings, InteleNet is expediting the completion of this new space, which was initially planned to be completed over the course of 2008. According to its schedule, InteleNet expects this space to be ready for initial customer use in March. InteleNet will begin pre-selling the space immediately. The additional space is designed to meet the demands of the continually increasing deployment of high density devices such as blade servers. Many data facilities are not equipped to handle these devices and their increased demands for power and cooling. However, InteleNet has designed the new space to accomodate additional power and cooling, including higher raised flooring and ceiling heights. "The additional energy and cooling capacity of this increased space will allow us to satisfy not only our existing customers' growth plans but new customer demands well into the future," says Carlos Oliveira, GM of InteleNet. "We expect to attract regional businesses seeking a high density data center not only in Irvine and Orange County but also in the outlying Los Angeles metropolitan area."
