Apr 8, 2004 : Siemens Launches Illinois Data Center
📅 - IT provider Siemens Business Services (usa.siemens.com/sbs) announced on Wednesday that it had formed an agreement with Kemper Insurance Companies to create a world-class data center for Siemens Business Services in Long Grove, Illinois.
Siemens Business Services would take over management of the Kemper facility, embarking on a seven-year outsourcing contract with the company, and taking on 100 Kemper employees, who would continue to support Kemper along with potential new clients of Siemens Business Services. "This is a client win and a strategic technology acquisition for Siemens Business Services," said Robert Gault, Vice President, Strategic Outsourcing for Siemens Business Services. "We are fortunate to be working with Kemper on this program which fulfills numerous positive goals for both of our firms." The 20,000-square-foot facility is equipped with raised floors and is well-suited for expansion, says Siemens. The data center will initially be used to support Kemper, but will be expanded over the next few months to serve multiple clients, says the company.
