📅 May 20, 2004 - Savvis Communications (savvis.net -> lumen.com) announced on Tuesday the availability of Savvis Retail Avenue, a suite of IT solutions geared towards the retail industry. With the suite of solutions in place, Savvis provides retailers with solutions for management and protection of digital brand assets and enhancement of customer service capabilities. The company will also deliver e-commerce strategies, provide IT infrastructure utility solutions and assist in training and distance learning initiatives. Retail Avenue solutions are backed by guaranteed service levels and supported 24x7.

In conjunction with the launch of Retail Avenue, Savvis announced the extension of its partnership with Retex (retex.com), a retail technology buying consortium. Under the agreement, Savvis will be Retex's exclusive managed hosting provider and IP VPN provider to over 2,400 Retex retailers.

Savvis currently serves over 400 customers in the retail industry.
