📅 - Web hosting provider VeriCenter (vericenter.com) has opened a second data center in Houston, Texas, according to a report published yesterday by the Houston Business Journal.
The 23,000 square foot facility went online this week and is providing services for its main customer IBM, the report said. The two companies are also reportedly cooperating for data protection. According to the report, the data center delivers tier-1 connectivity, fully redundant power, environmental control systems and has the capacity to accommodate a growing customer base. VeriCenter's original data center in the Houston area opened in 2000.

Hani Durzy, spokesperson for the San Jose-based company, said in a report that eBay wants to add data services to four of its data centers and is considering expanding its Denver and Austin, Texas facilities.
