📅 June 3, 2005 - Web hosting provider Globix Corporation (globix.com) announced on Thursday that it has expanded and integrated a suite of new technology services following its recent merger with NEON Communications.

Among Globix's recent services is a new networking services category based on NEON's sophisticated optical networking capabilities. Network services provide telecommunication products and services to carriers and large enterprise customers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic markets.

The company also recently introduced Digital Exchange, a comprehensive digital asset management platform that is now part of its Media Services solution. Digital Exchange helps companies such as advertising agencies and production houses manage, archive, distribute and leverage their valuable digital assets. Globix's other services include managed services, media services and IP infrastructure services.

The company said it had informed all affected customers and set up a special technical team to help transition them to another provider. "We are sorry to cause any inconvenience to our customers. Over the month we have received a substantial amount of businesses in our Web hosting section, but we still do not see its long-term profit due to the high operating and maintenance cost," the company said through a press release.

The Time Warner Inc. unit says the mail program will provide users with 2GB of storage, as well as an anti-virus and spam component. Emails originating from an US Internet address were used in an attempt to trick recipients into divulging their Internet banking passwords.
