📅 June 14, 2005 - Email security and management service provider Postini (postini.com) announced on Monday that the US Patent and Trademark Office has allowed Postini's second patent application, which covers the technology behind its connection security capabilities.


With 105 claims, the patent covers the management of the transmission of electronic messages through active data updating, in which Postini conducts real-time analysis of the activities of email sources and senders and responds to messages accordingly.

The allowed application forms the basis of advanced IP reputation information collection and action technology, significantly reducing the impact of dynamic SMTP threats, including directory harvest attacks, relay zombies and other attacks that cannot be prevented through content filtering alone.
