📅 - Content delivery network operator VitalStream (vitalstream.com -> inap.com) announced on Monday that it had launched the Authenticated Streaming Service, to be delivered via its Flash Video Streaming Service.
The service, compatible with .NET and SOAP-based verification systems, detects and confirms authorized users, granting them access to online Flash video streams. VitalStream says the service enables companies to prevent piracy, unauthorized distribution of content and copyright infringement. "VitalStream's Flash Video Authenticated Streaming Service is designed to accommodate large campaigns with multiple verification systems. The flexibility of our service allows companies to leverage existing investments in billing systems and infrastructure," says Philip N. Kaplan, president and COO of VitalStream. "With the capacity to provide streaming digital rights management and handle many business systems, we are continuing to execute on our strategy of offering the industry's deepest streaming media product set." The service is based on Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX and comes standard with the VitalStream MediaConsole Media Publishing System.
