OptiGlobe?s Latin American Data Center Receives SunTone Certification

📅 - On Tuesday, OptiGlobe Communications (optiglobe.com), a Web hosting and managed services provider, announced that it had become the first carrier-neutral Internet data center in Latin America to earn the SunTone Program Certification. Optiglobe's colocation, hosting and managed services were all certified under the program.
The SunTone certification, an initiative started by hardware manufacturer Sun Microsystems Inc., performs a detailed review of services, infrastructure and operational practices. Only those service providers who demonstrate a high level of quality throughout receive the seal of approval.
Sun says that by certifying OptiGlobe through the SunTone Program, Sun Microsystems has recognized OptiGlobe as one of an elite group of service providers able to deliver world-class performance and reliability.
The SunTone certification covers OptiGlobe's full portfolio of products, including the OptiColo, OptiHost and OptiManage product families in all of the company's data centers. OptiGlobe says the certification is another reason for customers to trust the company's services.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, OptiGlobe has operations throughout Latin America, including a 159,000 square foot facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a 113 square foot facility in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a third data center preparing for launch in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil later this month.
