"We are pleased to announce that we haven't lost service once during this entire disaster, and we have three weeks of backup power secured, and more resources are on the way," Sigmund J. Solares, CEO of Intercosmos Media Group, parent company of DirectNIC, said in a release.  DirectNIC is based in a data center on the tenth and eleventh floors of an office building near Lafayette Square in New Orleans. A skeleton crew is monitoring the facility and other employees are watching the network from remote locations, the company says. Solares said backup solutions outside of New Orleans are being implemented. Research firm Netcraft (http://www.netcraft.com) reported that employees of the firm have published a blog about the disaster and posted images.
