The .CN domain is the country code domain extension for China, which, according to directNIC.com, recently became the number two market for Internet use.
Using the pre-registration service, says the company, directNIC.com users can have their domain registrations attempted the moment the .CN registration system becomes open to the public. While directNIC.com says it can not guarantee the success of pre-registration efforts, the company has had success in the past, often obtaining high-profile domain names for its clients.
There is also no risk to the pre-registration service, says directNIC.com, as clients will only be billed when a pre-registration results in a valid domain registration.
The registration fee is $49.95 per domain per year, with a minimum two-year registration required during the pre-registration period, says directNIC.com.
