Sep 23, 2005 : Media Watchdog Publishes Blogging Guide

📅 - Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders has released a free guide detailing tips on how bloggers can work around Internet censors, reports say.
Partly financed by the French Foreign Ministry, the "Handbook for Bloggers and Cyber-Dissidents" provides a variety of technical tips and strategies for remaining anonymous online. The 87-page guide includes pointers on setting up and running blogs and how to use pseudonyms and anonymous proxies, which can replace easily traceable computer addresses. Circumvention technologies are also detailed. The publication would be of special interest to bloggers in countries like Iran and China, where the government exerts a large amount of control on mainstream media and does not tolerate dissent.
