📅 - UK-based Internet service provider Zen Internet (zen.co.uk) said on Thursday that it had chosen Hibernia Atlantic's (hiberniaatlantic.com) trans-Atlantic cable network to provide STM-16 service from Southport, UK to New York City.
The agreement, says Hibernia Atlantic, was driven by the network's ability to offer route diversity and enhanced optical level service with low latency. The company says it operates the only direct trans-Atlantic cable route from the US and Canada to Ireland and the UK.
"We welcome Zen Internet to Hibernia Atlantic's growing roster of customers," continues Eric Gutshall, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Hibernia Atlantic. "In fact, Hibernia has now sold 120+ Gbps of capacity within the past six months. We look forward to developing new product sets with Zen's team, and we are proud to provide them with this link between the US and European enterprise marketplaces."

In its press release, Zen Internet - previously a provider of ISP services and dedicated and managed hosting - the new colocation servive will provide a "cost-effective way of securely hosting customers' mission critical IT infrastructure" by "providing reliable and fast Internet access for Internet or Intranet services."
