Aug, 2001 : Open Call for Independent Review Panel Closes

Marina del Rey, California, USA (1 August 2001) From 26 June-26 July 2001, the ICANN Independent Review Panel Nominating Committee conducted an open call for nominations for the Independent Review Panel. That panel will provide a mechanism for independent third-party review of whether actions of the ICANN Board comply with the ICANN bylaws and articles of incorporation.

The open-call period ended last week, and today the Nominating Committee posted a list of the 31 names that were submitted. If you believe a nomination was submitted to the IRP Nominating Committee during the open call period but the name of the candidate does not appear on this list, please send your inquiries to <irp-nomcom-coordinator@icann.org> before 6 August 2001.

The Nominating Committee is seeking to provide its nominations for the IRP to the ICANN Board no later than 20 August 2001
