Advisory Concerning Changed Visa Requirements in Romania (Applies to Attendees from Countries Without Romanian Embassies/Consulates)
📅 -
ICANN has been informed by the Bucharest local host that the process in place to have visas issued at the Bucharest airport, upon arrival, for meeting attendees requiring visas but not having Romanian Embassies in their home countries, has been changed by the local authorities in Romania. The authorities now require that participants from countries for which visas are required arrive with a visa. Under the new procedures, we are advised visas will not be issued at the airport upon arrival.
This is a last-minute change that is out of ICANN's control. We are investigating whether anything can be done to allow visas to be issued upon entry for those affected by this change, but cannot predict whether our efforts will succeed. If you are affected by this change please e-mail meeting@icann.org, and be sure to provide us with information on countries you may be stopping in en route to Romania. We will update this website if and when we have additional information.
Please send any inquiries and information to meeting@icann.org.
