On 25 March 2003, ICANN posted a consultation paper entitled "Criteria to Be Used in the Selection of New Sponsored TLDs". This paper was discussed at the ICANN Public Forum held on 26 March 2003; a Powerpoint presentation is available on the ICANN web site. A related report entitled "Report on Compliance by Sponsored gTLDs with the Registration Requirements of Their Charters" is also available.

Written comments may be submitted by e-mail to <stld-rfp-comments@icann.org>. The deadline for written comments is Saturday, 17 May 2003.

📅 May 5, 2003 - Microsoft Releases Beta Virtual Server: Reports - According to reports, Microsoft has released a customer preview of Virtual Server, its recently acquired server virtualization technology. The software has been in beta testing for 60 days. In February, Microsoft (microsoft.com) acquired assets of Connectix Corporation (connectix.com), a leading developer of virtual machine technology. At the time of the acquisition, Connectix was still beta testing Virtual Server. The new packages will become available to both new and current customers beginning May 1.
