📅 October 11, 2006 - Ireland-based data center provider Servecentric (servecentric.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with national education and research network HEAnet (heanet.ie).
 The investment will enable HEAnet to enhance its broadband services to third-level colleges throughout Ireland. HEAnet is one of the largest providers of high quality Internet services to Ireland's universities, Institutes of Technology and the research and education community including primary and post primary schools. Servecentric says its solution enables HEAnet to enhance its growing broadband network. It can now increase capacity on the network quickly and offer additional services to colleges and students. It recently added video conferencing and video streaming to its members, enabling lecturers and students in different colleges to hold meetings and share ideas, without having to incur the time and expense of traveling. "Servecentric's world-class facilities are the ideal hosting environment for HEAnet," says John Boland, CEO of HEAnet.
