📅 - ‘No Secret Chinese Spy Chips Hidden In Supermicro Servers’ - In an article published by Bloomberg last week, it was alleged that Supermicro (http://www.supermicro.com) servers sold to certain customers contained Chinese grain-of-rice-sized spying chips on its motherboards in 2015. Now, US Homeland Security officials as well as UK spymasters and others have supported denials that Chinese agents were able to smuggle small secret spy chips into Supermicro servers.

📅 - 4.5 Billion Rata Records Compromised Worldwide in 1st Half 2018 - 945 data breaches led to 4.5 billion data records being compromised worldwide in the first half of 2018, according to Gemalto's Breach Level Index – a global database of public data breaches.

Compared to the same period in 2017, the number of lost, stolen or compromised records increased by a staggering 133 percent, though the total number of breaches slightly decreased over the same period, signaling an increase in the severity of each incident.
