Cloud-Based Networking Company Cybera Launches EMEA HQs in UK


Oct 10, 2018 - Cybera (cybera.com), a cloud-based networking company specializing in delivering application‐based SD‐WAN services, has established its EMEA headquarters in the UK. Industry veteran, Hubert Da Costa will lead Cyber's EMEA operations.

Cybera's software‐defined network services platform supports organizations to rapidly deploy, secure and optimize new cloud‐based applications and services. The platform is purpose‐built for distributed enterprises including those in remote locations and for IoT devices. This includes enterprises in retail, hospitality, financial services, and healthcare organizations with hundreds, sometimes thousands of remote sites.

Oct 11, 2018 - ‘No Secret Chinese Spy Chips Hidden In Supermicro Servers’ - In an article published by Bloomberg last week, it was alleged that Supermicro (supermicro.com) servers sold to certain customers contained Chinese grain-of-rice-sized spying chips on its motherboards in 2015. Now, US Homeland Security officials as well as UK spymasters and others have supported denials that Chinese agents were able to smuggle small secret spy chips into Supermicro servers.

In the article Bloomberg stated that Chinese secret agents installed tiny chips the size of a grain of rice on server motherboards built by US-based Supermicro, which were used by companies across the U.S. tech industry including Amazon and Apple.

Oct 11, 2018 - 4.5 Billion Rata Records Compromised Worldwide in 1st Half 2018 - 945 data breaches led to 4.5 billion data records being compromised worldwide in the first half of 2018, according to Gemalto's Breach Level Index – a global database of public data breaches.

Compared to the same period in 2017, the number of lost, stolen or compromised records increased by a staggering 133 percent, though the total number of breaches slightly decreased over the same period, signaling an increase in the severity of each incident.
