📅 - Cloudify (cloudify.co), a company specializing in IT operations automation technology that manages application and network services through open orchestration, has signed a strategic partnership with Brocade spin-off Lumina Networks – to productize a new open source plug-in to enable network service orchestration for brownfield networks that want to deploy NFV.
Enabling Cloudify's cloud native orchestration platform to provision network connectivity, the plug-in provides unified controls of underlay equipment via a network path-based application, the Lumina Flow Manager, on the Lumina SDN Controller.

📅 - Cloudera, Hortonworks Announce All-Stock Merger For End-to-End Data Platform - Cloudera (cloudera.com) and Hortonworks (hortonworks.com) have entered into a definitive agreement under which the companies will combine in an all-stock merger of equals. The transaction will create one of the world's leading data platform providers – spanning multi-cloud, on-premises and the edge.
Under the terms of the transaction agreement, Cloudera stockholders will own approximately 60% of the equity of the combined company and Hortonworks stockholders will own approximately 40%. The hybrid cloud data management companies have a combined equity value of approximately $5.2 billion. The companies expect to complete the transaction during the first quarter of calendar year 2019.

📅 - Second ‘Renewable’ Data Center for Equinix in Bulgaria - Global colocation data center company and interconnection provider Equinix has planned to open its second Bulgarian International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in Q1 2019. The $19 million data center in Bulgaria's capital Sofia will provide approximately 350 data center cabinets in the first phase of build out with the opportunity to add 1,100 cabinets in subsequent phases.
The SO2 data center will provide a secured colocation data center environment for local businesses and multinationals looking to expand into Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, Equinix SO2 (equinix.com) will have direct connectivity to the Bulgarian Internet Exchange (BIX) (bix.bg).
